Jockey Dylan Davis, who suffered multiple injuries in a spill at Aqueduct on Nov. 14, is home from the hospital and is hopeful to return to riding in late winter, according to his agent, Mike Migliore. “We’re looking end of February-March,” Migliore said. “I’m looking for March more than February. He’s feeling good, he’s antsy to get back, but I told him to take it easy. I told him [to] use this time to be with your family. In this business, you never get a break. “Physically, I know he’ll be fine. I want to make sure mentally he’s okay." Migliore said Davis was released from North Shore Hospital in Manhasset, N.Y., on Nov. 23. On Nov. 14, at Aqueduct, Davis was aboard Tarpaulin for trainer Orlando Noda. That horse was following Heavyweight Champs, who, under Ricardo Santana Jr., went down with a catastrophic injury to his left foreleg. Tarpaulin collided with Santana, hurling Davis hard to the Aqueduct main track. :: Access the most trusted data and information in horse racing! DRF Past Performances and Picks are available now. Davis was removed from the track on a stretcher and taken to Jamaica Medical Center, where he spent one night before being moved to North Shore University Hospital. Davis suffered a fractured collarbone, a broken arm, and multiple broken ribs. He also had to have a kidney removed. Migliore said Davis had a plate put in his right shoulder and 10 screws and a plate put in his right arm.  Migliore said Davis told him that, as he lay on the track, he had no feeling in his legs for a brief period of time.  Davis, 31, had the best year of his career in 2024, winning 213 races and his mounts earned $16.4 million in purse money. Through Nov. 14 of this year, Davis won 144 races and his mounts earned just over $13 million.  “I spoke to some people and they’re going to look after us and help get us back into the winner’s circle when he returns,” Migliore said. :: Want to learn more about handicapping and wagering?
