Due To Win Again wins Honeymoon Stakes

BOSSIER CITY, La. - Due To Win Again was prominent throughout for a head win over Titia in the $50,000 Honeymoon Stakes at Louisiana Downs on Saturday. Tincan Too, who was coupled in the wagering with Due To Win Again, finished third, a length and a quarter behind Titia.

Due To Win Again ($3.60) dueled with Sea Bloom through fractions of 23.71 for the opening quarter, 47.67 seconds for the half-mile mark and 1:11.89 seconds for six furlongs. Due To Win Again shook clear in the stretch and was strong to the wire as Titia launched a late bid to cut into the winner's advantage. Due To Win Again covered the one mile on turf for fillies and mares in 1:36.94.

Kirk LeBlanc rode Due To Win Again for trainer Howard Scarberry, who co-bred and co-owns the mare with Penny Scarberry.

Due To Win Again earned $30,000 for the win to improve her record to nine wins from 40 starts and earnings of $292,415.
