Jeff Taylor Due to Win Again wins the $60,000 River Cities Stakes at Louisiana Downs.
Bossier City, La - Due to Win Again ran to her name Saturday afternoon as she turned in a strong performance to pick up her first stakes win of the meeting in the $60,000 River Cities Stakes. Dyna Del also came from off the pace and reported home second, a length and three quarters back, followed by pacesetter Gilded Wings.
Ridden by Gerard Melancon, Due to Win Again ($4.20) is owned by trainer Howard Scarberry in partnership with his wife Penny. Saturday's victory, in a time of 1:41.38 for a mile and a sixteenth over the Franks Turf Course, was the 6-year-old mare's 11th from 45 career starts and she has now banked over $360,000 in her career.
