7:05 KD 11th Thought PETRICOR (#11, 10-1) could give her heavily favored stablemate War Like Goddess a real run in the Glens Falls, but something went amiss there, as Petricor barely lifted a hoof. 7:10 CBY 3rd FINAL VISION (#5, 8-1) exits a key race where 3 of 7 returned to win with figs of 65, 55, and 52. New barn drops in class but that isn't unusual this late in the meet. 7:39 KD 12th Trainer Shug McGaughey is a steady winner with 2yo first-time starters in turf-route MSWs (six wins from 31 runners the last five years) and debuting Phipps homebred SELF CONFIDENT (#11, 8-1) is from a notably strong turf family. 7:40 CBY 4th WALK SOFTLY (#10, 12-1) should be a price. We bet her recent win which came on this sod will give her a confidence boost. Trainer stats are good across the board and the leading rider gets a leg up. Versatile style never hurts but this post hurts a tad.
