DRF's Horse Racing Playbook for Wednesday, October 21, 2020

Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook – something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day’s action.
12:50 MTH 1st WHO IS JARETT (#10, 4-1) is entered for the Main Track Only for his first start since January, and with an uncertain weather forecast this week it does seem possible he gets to run; has proven speed and some very sharp works for his first start for trainer Tom Clark, who does very well with new faces and with horses off long layoffs. -Kenny Peck
1:08 GPW 3rd FRENCHMEN STREET (#2, 4-1) plunges to weakest level yet off the claim and lures Zayas right back. Capable on turf or dirt should this one move to the main. -Mike Welsch
1:15 MTH 2nd BANGLE GAL (#7, 8-1) has faced better in each of her last two starts since the win against a step lesser three back, an off-the-turf sprint run over a sloppy track; she was overmatched in both of those starts but didn’t run all that badly and she does figure to appreciate this move back into a claimer.

1:39 KEE 2nd SUNNY ISLE BEACH (#1, 3-1) shows a $15K purchase price and debuted two starts ago in a maiden-claimer, so the drop from a minor stakes to a $40K claiming race doesn’t feel like cause for concern. Got in five local works after returning from SAR. But what price would you take? Blinkers off, gets 3 lbs from the colts and geldings, but her dirt race was slow. These horses are difficult to separate. -Marcus Hersh
2:39 MTH 5th BOOMERANG MISS (#6, 3-1) ships back to Jersey after a try at Penn last time and she lands in a seemingly good spot as the potential controlling speed in an otherwise paceless race; she was unable to last two back despite a loose lead but that was a sixteenth longer, against better, and she was caught up in a duel in her prior try. -Kenny Peck
2:50 GPW 6th R PREROGATIVE (#2, 2-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Mike Welsch).

3:58 GPW 8th SOLDOLLIE (#7, 3-1) getting ample class relief in finale following series of unlucky trips vs. better. Can handle turf, might be even tougher if this one switches to the main. KILLA DEE re-claimed by Crichton barn in August, been freshened, well spotted for main track only if this one comes off the grass. BLACK JET strictly turf, may be just a matter of whether he can shake loose early from invader Solitary Jack. Very dangerous if allowed to clear off from the outset. -Mike Welsch
4:24 KEE 7th O SERAPHINA (#2, 9-2) is a DRF Best Bet (Marcus Hersh).
4:57 KEE 8th Modest group of maidens in the nightcap, where no one has hit the Beyer par of 79. In the interest of not going down with a shorter price, I’ll give CAPTAIN GINNY B (#1, 20- 1) a try as she makes her second career start following a mildly encouraging debut run at IND. My fervent hopes is that in a race lacking pace they let this filly, stretching from 1 1/6 to 1 3/16 miles, run out of the gate and get some position - of not the outright lead. -Marcus Hersh
