DRF's Horse Racing Playbook for Wednesday, November 4, 2026
:quality(75))
Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook – something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day’s action.
1:00 CD 1st ISSACHAR (#7, 12-1) claimed out of $40K debut win at KEE April. Tried a turf stakes over yielding ground at Ellis first off claim and got nothing at 66-1. Considerably better when back to dirt over a sloppy CD surface last out, but also met stronger foes there than he'll encounter this time. Like the outside draw in a short field. No recent workout video but since the last start he's put up fast ones. - Marcus Hersh | Get Past Performances for this race
3:26 CD 6th SALTWATER SOUL (#1, 12-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Marcus Hersh). | Get Past Performances for this race
3:55 CD 7th Assume MAYFIELD (#6, 5-1) was showing more on the dirt in morning training than he did in two races - or he'd have gotten the switch to grass before now. 100-percent bred top and bottom for turf and great chance he moves up on the surface switch. - Marcus Hersh | Get Past Performances for this race
10:18 RP 7th NO BULL PETE (#4, 12-1) might have turned the corner. The son of multiple G1 turf SW Raging Boy (with a Euro G1 SW as his damsire, too) showed talent in three straight starts before putting it all together to blast maidens here Sept. 27. Onward and upward. MARC has tried to get back on turf in his last two but both were rained off. At least he ran decently in each but turf is the ground he wants. - Michael Hammersly | Get Past Performances for this race
10:46 RP 8th KITTY HOUSE (#7, 5-1) had some back-class with a number of stakes engagements in 2024 and 2025. Her form since has been mixed though that's been on turf. She's back to dirt and sprinting and that might play best for her off a layoff. Her last win came off a layoff. - Michael Hammersly | Get Past Performances for this race
11:14 RP 9th Sure, ZORRITOS DASH (#1, 8-1) has had lots of chances but he could be spotted for action here at a price. His efforts on turf for a tag have been decent and with two races under his belt after a couple months off he might improve. His speed with the rail is nice, too. His lone sibs to race is Atomica Oro (G1 SW, G3 SP in her native Argentina). - Michael Hammersly | Get Past Performances for this race
