DRF's Horse Racing Playbook for Wednesday, March 9, 2022

Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook – something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day’s action.
1:05 GP 1st Just banking on SPRING THE BEAST (#3, 8-1) taking to the Tapeta. Readily stalked and ran away from likely favorite CAJUN MANDATE in pair's previous meeting, taken to do same if able to repeat that effort on synthetic. -Mike Welsch | Get PPs for this race
2:13 TAM 5th MORENA DANCER (#7, 12-1) was off the board when last on the grass, two back, but she lost any real chance when forced to check in tight quarters in the lane; low-percentage connections means a big price is necessary but that shouldn't be an issue, as she's up in class for this, but she has lots of upside here with a clean trip. -Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race
2:42 TAM 6th TAPSOLUTE (#8, 6-1) has a poor overall win percentage but he may be a new horse off the claim by trainer Victor Russo, as he ran well in defeat in each of his last two starts and the resulting figures put him in the middle of this; perhaps good enough given the right set up and a favorable trip from his outside post. -Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race
3:07 GP 5th CAPTURE THE TIME (#1, 4-1) comes off best yet against open MSW company when switching to turf several weeks ago while no match for odds on Clement trainee Big Invasion who posted 94 Beyer for his maiden win. Might not look back if able to clear off in similar fashion from the rail. -Mike Welsch | Get PPs for this race
3:18 TAM 7th EISWEIN (#1, 12-1) was overmatched in her latest and off the board in her only appearance over this course two back but she had trouble there, checking in the late stages, and that cost her; she needs to post an improved Beyer to win this but she has lots of upside, as she could move way up given a clean trip and fast splits. -Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race
4:32 TUP 4th FIONA BAY (#6, 6-1) improved her Beyer in her first five starts before tailing off in her last two starts before the layoff. She comes in fresh and ready with a string of nice works. Two of five sibs beat winners (290K and 187K). Class drop is just right and this filly should be a price if this field stays intact. -Scott Ehlers | Get PPs for this race
5:04 TUP 5th PREDETERMINATION (#3, 8-1) got a taste of winning in her 13th start and we say she liked it. Did she beat much? No. Does she hold a pace advantage in this race? No. Is this barn very good with horses that won their last race? Yes, yes, yes (30%). -Scott Ehlers | Get PPs for this race
