DRF's Horse Racing Playbook for Wednesday, March 29, 2023
?q=100)
Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook; something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day's action.
1:09 GP 2nd SUPER GREMLIN (#1, 9-2) looks like controlling speed drawing inside and stretching to a mile. Repeat of well graded effort two back may make him tough to catch. -Mike Welsch | Get PPs for this race
1:50 TAM 4th HIT BY A WAVE (#6, 8-1) has been away since November and now makes his seasonal and local debut but he seems to fit well here, as he could be the controlling speed in a race that's a little light on early zip; trainer Karyn Philipp has good stats with horses off this type of layoff, albeit from a small sample. -Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race
3:08 GP 6th LUNAR ROCKET (#7, 9-2) a beaten favorite in each of last pair but split pair of next out winners in key race two back and repeated the effort from a Beyer standpoint when upset again last time. Stays put off the claim and Irad signs back on. One more chance for this tag. -Mike Welsch | Get PPs for this race
3:17 TAM 7th MORE DRAMA (#7, 9-2) weakened only late in that loss last time out and that was a very good effort, as the top three finishers were stalkers who sat just off the lead; big threat here if he's able to get clear in the opening stages and back down the early tempo. -Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race
3:47 TAM 8th LUVISANAKI (#7, 6-1) chased the 6/5 favorite and eventual winner through some fast fractions in that last sprint, and she was caught up in a race-long duel in her first start off the layoff; cuts back in distance but likely remains the one they'll have to reel in. -Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race
4:07 GP 8th BRAVO ZULU (#7, 12-1) drops to cheapest level yet, might offer some value as one to catch in finale. -Mike Welsch | Get PPs for this race
4:50 TUP 7th DIXON TUFF (#6, 10-1) didn't do much in his debut but he got needed race experience and that is what matters most. Plus, 6 1/2 furlongs is tough for a debut. Connections paid $4,500 for this Cal bred yet they keep him at this level and at this distance. He draws best. One of two sibs is a multiple winner of 126K. -Scott Ehlers | Get PPs for this race
5:49 TUP 9th DODROPIN (#3, 8-1) won at this shortened sprint distance only two back and did so at 29-1. She actually improved her Beyer by a point in her most recent when 4th at almost 10-1. Connections find a good spot and now this gal goes third off the layoff. Last chance for a great price? -Scott Ehlers | Get PPs for this race
6:47 TUP 11th DIRT FLIRT (#7, 7-2) is a DRF Best Bet (Scott Ehlers).| Get PPs for this race
