DRF's Horse Racing Playbook for Wednesday, March 22, 2023
?q=100)
Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook; something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day's action.
12:40 GP 1st KIT CAN RUN (#3, 6-1) makes third start of current form cycle while returning to what may be her preferred surface on grass. Shaky nod to kick off the new week. -Mike Welsch | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
1:09 GP 2nd LITTLE BELITA (#4, 6-1) figures forwardly placed in relatively pace-less event, need only repeat that effort two back when splitting pair of next out winners at seven panels to get back on winning track. -Mike Welsch | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
1:50 TAM 3rd KYLE'S DEGREE (#6, 12-1) rises in his first start off the claim but he comes off a game effort in defeat in his latest, complete with a Beyer that puts him in the mix with these; may get first run at likely pacesetter BASSANIO, who weakened last time despite a loose lead at a shorter distance. -Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
2:22 TAM 4th GRAND PICK (#5, 4-1) is a major upgrade candidate after racing against the race flow in each of his last three starts, sitting off the early pace in races that lacked pace and thus set up well for the frontrunners (not the bold and inverted "S" symbols that dot his pp lines); needs pace, of course, but should get it. -Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
2:53 TAM 5th WASSER (#8, 10-1) is admittedly a tough take as a serious win candidate but she should offer enough value to offset the fact that she doesn't win often; she was off the board in each of her last two but she impressed in defeat each time, showing good late energy, and she may be able to make the last run if she gets a clean trip and honest splits to chase. -Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
3:08 GP 6th MEET THE BEAUTY (#5, 5-1) did all the dirty work before tiring late in a race that collapsed to fast closing Hay Hay Paula in her 2023 debut. Exited big effort two back behind in form Lovin Make Cents who won an N1X Fla bred race with 74 Beyer off that effort. Repeat of that and a little more patient handling might have this one posing to have picture taken today. -Mike Welsch | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
3:38 GP 7th RACHEL'S ROCK (#1, 15-1) beat open company when earning her diploma last year and local works have been decent since returning from the farm earlier this winter. Back with state breds, might prove bit of a sleeper if not needing one off the bench. -Mike Welsch | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
4:35 TAM 8th PIVOTAL RUN (#5, 7-2) made a run on the turn in that last one, and while he was unable to threaten in the lane he did run into some traffic trouble in the lane, and he wasn't pushed all that hard once it was clear he wouldn't threaten for a share; also ran well in defeat two back, closing nicely through the late stages. -Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
6:18 TUP 7th DODROPIN (#6, 12-1) won at this shortened sprint distance only two back and did so at 29-1. She actually improved her Beyer by a point in her most recent when 4th at almost 10-1. Connections find a good spot and now this gal goes third off the layoff. -Scott Ehlers | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
6:47 TUP 8th ZUMURUDEE (#1, 5-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Scott Ehlers). | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
