DRF's Horse Racing Playbook for Wednesday, March 1, 2023

Kool Kate wins the 2020 Glendale Handicap at Turf Paradise
Coady Photography Turf Paradise is one of three tracks featured in Wednesday's DRF Playbook.

Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook; something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day's action.

12:58 TAM 2nd PERFECT SPEIGHTY (#2, 6-1) turned in a strong effort in that last loss, a runner-up finish where he got to running too late in the game to catch the winner; off the board in his prior try but that was a deceptively good try and he may be set for his best yet in his third start back after the break. -Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race

2:09 GP 5th SUGAR SIN (#3, 6-1) did not break sharp then got in tight quarters and forced to steady on turn behind leaders last time. Came back with strong move since the outing. One to beat if leaving cleanly today. -Mike Welsch | Get PPs for this race

2:39 GP 6th ONE OF ONE (#6, 8-1) back to the turf off a couple of improved effort on synthetic. Was forced extremely wide off the turn, finished full of run despite late lead change last time behind undefeated Bedtime Story. -Mike Welsch | Get PPs for this race

3:28 TAM 7th RUDA (#8, 9-2) is a DRF Best Bet (Kenny Peck). | Get PPs for this race

4:18 TUP 4th MISTY MATT (#2, 6-1) seems to run better every other start so that might bode well for today. She exits a key race where 2 of 7 returned to win (lone available Beyer is 64). This mare did have a little trouble in her recent start and was trying the turf and two turns both for the first time. Now she cuts back to the dirt and one turn and that makes perfect sense. There is good speed in this race and this mare wants to pass runners. -Scott Ehlers | Get PPs for this race

5:46 TUP 7th FOREVER GOLD (#1, 12-1) has some speed and draws the rail. Why can't he duplicate his wire to wire win from three back where he drew the rail? This guy is a different horse when afforded an early breather. There just isn't that much pace in this race. -Scott Ehlers | Get PPs for this race

6:14 TUP 8th MISCHIEF MAME (#6, 10-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Scott Ehlers). | Get PPs for this race
