12 p.m. Eastern Gulfstream Park 1st race – At press time there was a forecast for scattered showers on Wednesday. Assuming all turf races stay on grass for handicapping purposes. RANK AND FILE (#5, 4-1) ran too well, finishing midpack versus winners, in turf bow not to give top billing dropping in against bottom-level maiden claimers. – Mike Welsch

12:33 p.m. Eastern Tampa Bay Downs 1st race – THE KAHN (#7, 9-2) disappointed as the favorite in his latest, but the controlled pace, set by Karma King, definitely didn't help his cause. He was also against the flow in his prior tries, but he can make amends today given a better setup, at a better price than he was in that last one. –Kenny Peck

1:27 p.m. Eastern Tampa Bay Downs 3rd race – ENGLISH LAUGHTER (#8, 8-1) makes his first start off the claim for trainer Anthony Ferraro, who is winning at a strong 29 percent with new faces. This gelding had a pace excuse in his latest and a tough trip in his prior, but his efforts previous to that were good enough to make him a threat with these. – Kenny Peck

2:35 p.m. Eastern Lone Star Park 1st race – SILVER AND ACES (#11, 3-1) is back on the main track and back racing around one turn, and it was under such conditions that he put up what ranks as this field's best-career Beyer Speed Figure. He also makes the meaningful move to the maiden-claiming ranks for the first time on form. – Mary Rampellini

3:07 p.m. Eastern Lone Star Park 2nd race – DRIP BREW (#2, 3-1) moves to turf, and while she's made limited appearances on the grass, she's run some of her best races on the green. She also is back in the claiming ranks for the first time in some time. – Mary Rampellini

3:09 p.m. Eastern Gulfstream Park 7th race – GESTURE (#6, 12-1) just coasted to an easy win against a soft group in race switched from turf to dirt but earned high marks doing so. Need only repeat that type of effort to take another. – Mike Welsch

4:33 p.m. Eastern Louisiana Downs 2nd race – D TWO (#8, 6-1) gets back to the turf, and that is what we like best. His only two turf starts were against much better in Kentucky. His turf breeding is rock solid as his 324 turf Tomlinson can attest to. This gelding fits with claimers and does have a couple of local works. He is just bred to love a turf sprint. – Scott Ehlers

4:43 p.m. Eastern Lone Star Park 5th race – MY GOLDEN BOY (#5, 9-2) is well-versed at a mile on turf and has an age edge on some of his chief rivals as he is 4. He also is a half-brother to a pair of multiple stakes winners in She's Outrageous and Major Big Time. – Mary Rampellini

6:22 p.m. Eastern Louisiana Downs 6th race – MIDDLE OF FOREVER (#2, 15-1) always fires his best shot when returning off a layoff. His last three Beyers when doing so are 65, 58, and 62. He has done all of his winning on this sod. Works are perfect, and he gets good race flow all while drawing inside where he can save some early ground into the first turn. We expect a good price. – Scott Ehlers

6:45 p.m. Eastern Lone Star Park 9th race – ABOUT OUR TIME (#4, 9-2) is back on turf, where he has fired some strong races of late, after hooking a quick, quality crowd of steeper last out at Lone Star. – Mary Rampellini

7:40 p.m. Eastern Canterbury Park 5th race – SOBER PEACE (#7, 20-1) is by a 10 percent debut sire. Her dam went 16-4-3-1 and earned $96K. Both sibs beat winners and earned $48K and $106K. Work tab is solid. Expecting a price. – Scott Ehlers

9:10 p.m. Eastern Canterbury Park 8th race – VEGAN GOES BEST (#4, 9-2) will try and be the speed of the speed. It won't be easy, but luring Arrieta will help a lot. This filly got an early breather five back and won easy at 5-2. A good break is essential. – Scott Ehlers
