DRF's Horse Racing Playbook for Wednesday, January 4, 2023

12:10 GP 1st RICH GIFT ran well behind class dropping winner despite taking up briefly on final turn of similarly conditioned event going a mile in 2yo finale. May be knocking on door now with this kind. -Mike Welsch | Get PPs for this race
12:40 GP 2nd PROPER MANNERS (#1, 6-1) a question over the Tapeta but a new face to a category lacking any real standouts. May prove good fit with these especially if able to clear off ala easy claiming win this summer at Delaware Park. -Mike Welsch | Get PPs for this race
1:00 TAM 2nd GLASS STAR (#6, 6-1) tries this dirt for the first time and gets first Lasix. After drawing inside for her first three starts, this gal starts outside for the first time and that might be bigger than you think. Camacho gets a leg up and this filly gets good race flow. -Scott Ehlers | Get PPs for this race
1:10 GP 3rd PLEASECALLMEBACK (#7, 9-2) over-matched returning to the flat in 2 mile Jerkens now getting a ton of class relief dropping with conditioned claimers today. Once classier sort could wake up with these. -Mike Welsch | Get PPs for this race
1:27 TAM 3rd IRISH KITTEN (#4, 6-1) ran OK on the turf 5 and 6 back versus Colonial turf foes. She ran evenly on the green two back but that was only five furlongs. This filly drops in class and is bred to like the green. There is zero speed in this race so this filly could be forwardly placed with a decent break and some early encouragement. -Scott Ehlers | Get PPs for this race
2:20 TAM 5th DYNA'S HONOR (#6, 8-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Scott Ehlers). | Get PPs for this race
3:20 TAM 7th BORGOBYTHESEA (#6, 10-1) looks off form but he pushed a fast pace in his last two and that isn't the case today. The best speed horse is one that looks off form because the other pace players often let said runner go early. Plus, they are often a big price. -Scott Ehlers | Get PPs for this race
3:52 TUP 4th SOLA (#7, 8-1) never got a breather off the layoff even if going only 4 1/2 furlongs. Notice that this filly didn't get much play either when sent off at 8-1. The real deal shows up today as this filly adds 1 1/2 furlongs. She has never missed the board going this distance. -Scott Ehlers | Get PPs for this race
