DRF's Horse Racing Playbook for Wednesday, January 20, 2021

Barbara D. Livingston The Pegasus World Cup will have lower purses and no entry fees in 2020.

Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook – something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day’s action.

12:42 TAM 1st WILDCAT MERRY (#6, 4-1) was behind MERMAID KISSES two back but was closing ground nicely in that abbreviated sprint, and she returned to score impressively in her latest; now in with non-winners of three but given an honest pace up front she may be able to handle the class rise in her current form. -Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets

2:05 GP 4th SKYWALKING (#2, 9-2) is a DRF Best Bet (Mike Welsch). | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets

2:38 GP 5th ALOHA KITTEN (#7, 5-1) an improving, lightly raced filly who exploded to impressive maiden win first out for new connections, the race flattered when also-ran Miss Wrote came back with big efforts in her next two starts. -Mike Welsch | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets

3:46 TAM 7th MR LIGHTNING BOY (#3, 7-2) was no threat in that last try, when in against better, but he had little chance to win that race from off the pace, due to a lack of speed in the field, but he was running late, albeit after the issue was decided; also in against better two back in his first start off the short break but this drop may be all he needs to get back to the winner's circle. -Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets

4:11 GP 8th CRAZY SHOT (#7, 8-1) exits a key race when not disgraced going seven furlongs against tons better than he'll encounter in local bow. -Mike Welsch | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets

4:42 GP 9th PARDON MY HEART (#5, 6-1) and KELLEYCANRUN (#11, 9-2) exit a pretty good allowance field in N Y won by fast closing Choate Beach. Enjoyed a nice inside run that day but a consistent sort who looks properly spotted to get back on winning track over a course she handled well here last season. Kelleycanrun raced right behind top one throughout in their previous meeting, encountered a bit of traffic woes along the way. Another nicely spotted but must overcome tricky outside post. -Mike Welsch | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets

4:50 TAM 9th WANNA HAVE FUN (#10, 10-1) was off the board in each of her last two but she caught the eye both times, closing well while not being pushed hard through the late stages last time and flying through the lane two back in her first start over this course; needs pace but if she gets it she may finally get there in time. -Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
