DRF's Horse Racing Playbook for Wednesday, January 18, 2023

DRF Staff|Jan 17, 2023
Gulfstream Park racing
Barbara D. Livingston Gulfstream Park returns to action Wednesday afternoon.

Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook; something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day's action.

12:59 TAM 2nd TIMELESS GLORY (#4, 5-1) should offer some value. We like a lot of those tries at Indiana Grand. She was washed off in her most recent and many a shipper needs a local start anyway. Race flow is average so no help there. We like that Ferrer keeps the call and he is 44% for this barn. -Scott Ehlers | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets

1:08 GP 3rd MINXY (#4, 12-1) comes from a very strong family that includes a handful of six figure earners including full brother Cajun Firecracker who won the Dr Fager during his 2yo campaign. Has shown some speed in the a.m. -Mike Welsch | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets

1:57 TAM 4th STORMIN' AMANDA (#6, 5-1) was buried on the rail in her debut but still managed the place. One of two sibs is a multiple winner of 171K. We spy a recent work and this filly draws much better. -Scott Ehlers | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets

4:04 GP 9th SHE'S SO PRETTY (#9, 7-2) is a DRF Best Bet (Mike Welsch). | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets

4:22 TAM 9th WATER WITCH (#8, 5-1) is better of late. Any horse that can win its debut while going two turns on the turf has talent. It helps that said win came here. New jock is noted. -Scott Ehlers | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets

5:41 TUP 7th NEVADAN (#6, 5-1) ran OK last out and that is key as he is a 10YO coming off a layoff. These older runners often need a race or two to get back into the swing of things. We know that this guy is a hard trier and he has found the winner's circle twelve times on this dirt. Trainer stats are good across the board and this barn often uses Lopez (34% locally). -Scott Ehlers | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets

6:10 TUP 8th HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY (#7, 10-1) won on this sod only two back. Second time with new barn can only help. We don't think this field came up very tough. Race flow is more than fair. -Scott Ehlers | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
