DRF's Horse Racing Playbook for Wednesday, February 2, 2022

Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook – something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day’s action.
12:15 TAM 1st MOOR STRENGTH (#6, 15-1) is the second starter out of the dam, and though the first runner (Carrie's Gift) was winless in five tries this filly has some works that hint at some speed; barn scored with two firsters over this strip back in July. -Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
12:45 TAM 2nd LADY IN HEELS (#6, 5-1) drew off nicely in that maiden score last time out, and she now returns with Lasix for trainer Maria Bowersock, who sports a strong win rate of 24% with horses who won their last races; may be quick enough to shake loose in the opening stages. -Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
1:15 TAM 3rd AND THE OSCAR GOES (#4, 8-1) turned in a very good effort for the place in that last one, closing ground nicely despite a speed-favoring race flow; that was the best figure of his short career but while the effort two back resulted in a weak figure that was a tumultuous trip. -Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
1:28 GP 3rd ALIZEE (#4, 9-2) broke poorly and got hung very wide first off the claim and first time on Tapeta. Eligible to improve if away with others and with one over the course. -Mike Welsch | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
2:02 GP 4th CUMULONIMBUS (#3, 15-1) broke poorly, raced greenly, rallied mildly in turf bow and better yet galloped out like a horse who wants more ground. Might prove sleeper if getting clean run today. -Mike Welsch | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
2:32 GP 5th FUTURE FLAY (#4, 7-2) is a DRF Best Bet (Mike Welsch). | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
3:48 TAM 8th INTO PARADISE (#6, 10-1) was far up the track in his latest but that race is a complete toss, as he got off to a slow start before rushing up to contest the pace in a sprint that set up very well for the closers (note the bold "C" in DRF running line); given a clean getaway he may be able to get clear in the opening stages, and if that scenario were to develop he could well steal this at a price. -Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
4:18 TAM 9th KONA KAI (#1, 8-1) comes back at the same level she was at last time but now she's back in against strictly females, and that was a much deeper field than she meets today; she bore out and was steadied and virtually eased on the turn last time but now adds blinkers and the recent works indicate the equipment change agrees with her. -Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
4:31 TUP 5th LEMON DROP LADY (#2, 5-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Scott Ehlers). | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
5:34 TUP 7th KING LEBRON (#6, 8-1) exits a key race where 2 of 8 returned to win with figs of 69 and 66 (another finished 2nd with a 67 figure). Form cycle hints at better. Valenzuela gets a leg up and maybe that is key. The last two times he rode this gelding he finished 1st at 3-1 and 2nd by a nose at 12-1. -Scott Ehlers | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
