Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook – something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day’s action. 1:38 SAR 2nd EASY SHOT (#1, 9-2) has been no match for Mubarmaj over longer distances in his two NY starts but he ran well both times, especially that last one when going wide and pulling his way forward early, before taking a game run at that in-form rival in the stretch; trying to win that race likely cost him second and he might really appreciate the cut back for this. -Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets 2:13 CNL 2nd BIG DAVE (#2, 7-2) is no turf route horse, so have to assume the long layoff comeback run at a grass mile last time was only a prep for this dirt sprint. His standard pre-layoff dirt-sprint form would handle this group. -Marcus Hersh | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets 2:41 CNL 3rd ELUSIVE (#7, 4-1) a very encouraging turf debut last out in just his second start. See no reason he doesn't improve second after layoff and with Lasix added, and if 13-race maiden BALLYHOO PRINCE is the favorite, there could be value on Elusive. -Marcus Hersh | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets 3:55 SAR 6th SAND AND SEA (#1, 7-2) switched to turf for her Saratoga debut and ran well in that spot while dueling with the impressive Tuscan Queen (just finished a good 5th in the Galway) in the stretch before settling for second-best; moves inside with tactical speed. -Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets 4:29 SAR 7th BEFORE YOU (#7, 4-1) showed some potential while green in her debut back in February, which remains her lone start over fast dirt six months later; returned to dirt on the drop last time and scored easily right on the lead while managing to avoid being claimed; moves into a logical spot off the maiden win while not getting too ambitious. -Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets 5:01 CNL 8th Probably comes down to KITTEN'S SPA (#4, 9-2) and RECONVENE, and guessing Kitten's Spa is just a little faster on the day, though Reconvene has more upside. Kitten was in way too tough two starts ago and ran well considering the race was rained off turf last time at MTH. Should get first run on deep closing Reconvene. -Marcus Hersh | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets 5:39 SAR 9th KNEESNHIPS (#7, 10-1) didn't earn much of a figure for her debut win at Ellis Park last month, but she ran well in that spot while coming through on the rail and gamely gunning down a pair of rivals that weren't coming back for her in the stretch; steps right up and is as likely to improve as anyone in this field. -Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets 7:10 CBY 3rd KARALINKA (#7, 5-1) is bred to love the grass but ran just OK in her first two starts in Cally. She then came here and did little but that race was pulled from the grass. She should be more mature than previous turf tries a while ago but what we like best is that she puts races together for the first time...ever. Race flow is fine so this filly just needs to relax in the early going and then power home. -Scott Ehlers | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets 9:40 CBY 8th We liked TWOKO BAY (#2, 6-1) two back and were rewarded with a nice 2nd at almost 12-1. We have always thought that this guy was better on the turf but are re-thinking that now. Hard trying gelding draws great for good guy owners. Race flow is more than fair. New jock the hero today? -Scott Ehlers | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets 10:10 CBY 9th HOTASAPISTOL (#6, 6-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Scott Ehlers). | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
