DRF's Horse Racing Playbook for Wednesday, April 7, 2021

Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook – something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day’s action.
1:39 KEE 2nd Trainer B Colebrook often does well at KEE and his two winners (from two starters) opening week were well prepared and spotted. CANCELLARA (#2, 6-1) gets a $5K claiming-price bump, a positive, off the second out maiden win in which she added blinkers and Lasix and got a class drop following her MSW debut. Solid run last time and can build on that, especially since the pedigree leans dirt over any other surface. -Marcus Hersh | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
2:51 TAM 6th KISSMELIPS (#8, 3-1) rushed up to contest the pace after a slow start in her debut, and though she was beaten nine lengths she earned a representative Beyer; given a clean break she can be expected to be a factor from the start from her outside post. -Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
3:18 KEE 5th Not sure how good PERHAPS TONIGHT (#5, 10-1) is or even how far she really wants to run, but do know she had no chance at much of a placing last out at GP making US debut given the trip she pulled. Here's hoping she breaks better than she did overseas and takes a forward position on what ought to be a modest tempo. -Marcus Hersh | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
3:24 TAM 7th PROPER MANNERS (#4, 5-1) meets better after topping claiming non-winners of two in that last one but the Beyers she has been posting at Gulfstream very much put her on the short list of contenders for this allowance sprint; tactical speed should mean she's well positioned regardless of race flow, and trainer Baltazar Galvan specializes with turf sprinters. -Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
3:57 TAM 8th ASTRONAUT OSCAR (#1, 5-2) has won two straight and he continues to climb the ladder for trainer David Van Winkle but this looks like a favorable spot for him in terms of the pace scenario; he can steal another if he's able to break alertly from the rail and get away unpressured. -Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
4:24 KEE 7th TUNED (#3, 7-2) is a DRF Best Bet (Marcus Hersh). | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
4:57 KEE 8th STAY HOME (#3, 4-1) has three second-place finishes, showing meaningful improvement, since blinkers were removed in February. Overlay the two-turn form with the sprint form and the horse looks like he'll suit the Beard Course, a long one-turn sprint. -Marcus Hersh | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
