DRF's Horse Racing Playbook for Thursday, September 3, 2020

Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook – something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day’s action.
12:00 GP 1st MISBEHAVING LADY (#7, 6-1) is by a 20% debut sire (2 for 10) and a 0 for 5 debut turf sire. Her dam was un-raced. Neither sib won but combined they only ran 4 times. This filly is a January foal so she has an age advantage over most of these. The David barn is 29% with first turfers and 21% with their 2YO's (flat bet profit for both). -Scott Ehlers
12:29 GP 2nd MATRACA (#4, 5-1) has improved or tied her Beyers in every start to date. With that said, we think her most recent was better than it looks as she was trying two turns and winners for the first time. This filly gets in light and just has the look of an improving runner. -Scott Ehlers
2:02 GP 5th ANDRES EDUARDO (#8, 9-2) is a DRF Best Bet (Scott Ehlers).
2:10 LRL 4th ELENZEE (#12, 8-1) is in desperate need of class relief and receives it dropping to the $16,000 level in first start over the circuit. Pushed a solid pace last time out at Saratoga in a race in which the top two finishers rallied from seventh and last after the opening quarter. He's never been this cheap and might not have to work so hard to get a forward position against these. His last victory came in the third start following a 168-day layoff and he now goes third off a 245-day break. -Dan Illman

2:40 LRL 5th NATIONAL HONOR (#4, 3-1) might have been best in the faster division of $12,500 sellers at Monmouth on July 18. He saved ground after breaking from a tough outside post position, but the jock opted to stay in turning for home instead of angling out for a clear run. After splitting horses, he altered back to the rail and had to get off it very late in the game. The winner of that race returned to finish second in a $16,000 starter handicap with a 82 Beyer and has now earned over $455K in his career. -Dan Illman
4:10 LRL 8th ROMANTIC MOMENT (#5, 7-2) overcame a slow pace to win her only other one-turn turf sprint and now returns off a 222-day layoff for Shug McGaughey barn that is 6 for 13 (46%, $8.86 ROI) in grass races at Laurel over the past two years. Tried two turns in the South Beach Stakes at Gulfstream on Pegasus World Cup afternoon and was held up at the back behind another slow pace. -Dan Illman
4:57 WO 4th BEAR KITTY (#1, 4-1) has had a break of nearly two months since taking her season opener in a shorter sprint at this $10K level. She's worked thrice since early August, and obviously enjoys some space between her engagements. -Ron Gierkink

5:12 SAR 8th KEPT TRUE (#5, 5-1) got caught up contesting the pace going 6.5 furlongs off the layoff and tired to finish behind a couple of these; was getting better and the end of her 3yo campaign and into the first part of this year and had run a winning race in the Correction while dueling in a race that ultimately fell apart late prior to the layoff. -Mike Beer
5:35 WO 6th AUNT TILLIE (#8, 12-1) wasn't all that far back in seventh in her June 28 seasonal bow in an N1X turf sprint on the inner turf. She's worked bullets on the training track leading up to this NW2 OS/$40K tilt on the main turf and retains Fukumoto, who's 3 for 11 at the meet for Patton. -Ron Gierkink
5:45 SAR 9th TRAIPSING (#4, 5-1) gets a pass for that last one when favored as she was forced to run over the main track; liked her two wins following the debut run behind Newspaperofrecord as a 2yo, and she ran much better than it may appear in the Treasure Coast two back while racing keenly after a solid pace in a race that went to closers at the end; can get the distance but much settle this time. -Mike Beer
6:18 SAR 10th YES TO MISCHIEF (#5, 6-1) debuted sprinting on dirt and appeared to need that race while racing greenly early and then starting to race on gamely in the stretch to finish a gaining 4th; adds lasix for her second start and she is bred for this being a half to a turf winner out of a dam who placed in her first two turf starts before breaking her maiden going long on grass and is a sister to multiple Grade 3 turf winner Broken Dreams. -Mike Beer
