Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook – something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day’s action.
12:00 GPW 1st MADAME ROUGE (#12, 5-1) drew a tough post but if she runs as well on turf as her Grade 2 placed sister Tapitry, who is by Tapit, she could thrive running on the green stuff the first time. She did show some promise in her two races running over wet tracks in Delaware. -Randy Goulding
12:35 GPW 2nd Going with horse-for-course LI'L MEATBALL (#6, 9-2) who has three wins from five starts here and comes into this off a runner-up finish at this level. He's never won going around two turns but he did finish third going 1 1/16 miles in the $500K In Reality as a 2-year-old. -Randy Goulding
12:40 LRL 1st H R H JELLYBEAN (#2, 6-1) returns to the scene of pace-pressing maiden win after two tries with excuses out of town. Acted up behind the gate before tackling Zyramid (next-out 71 Beyer when second in off-the-turf "two other than" at Pimlico) in race washed off the lawn, then took the sharp turn extremely wide in return to sod on September 16. -Dan Illman
1:36 LRL 3rd MY CANDY GIRL (#3, 6-1) went way too fast on the lead wearing blinkers for the first time, but still held on gamely for second behind favored Bethabara. Far from embarrassed in lone turf sprint to date last fall at Aqueduct and might relax a bit better in the early going on the cutback in distance. Rosales lands here instead of Midship Lady. -Dan Illman

1:44 GPW 4th HEALS THE SOUL (#3, 8-1) finished with a rush when he moved off the rail turning for home in his debut on Tapeta at Presque Isle. The 71 Beyer Speed Figure came back strong and it was a key race with three next-out winners. He is a half to a couple of dirt winners so expecting him to be okay with the surface switch. -Randy Goulding
2:32 LRL 5th SUPER E's (#10, 6-1) form on firm turf is very good and he just couldn't kick with the same force on wet ground in his last two starts. Raced in between horses behind a quick pace last time, split rivals with a three-wide bid on the second turn while under a hard drive and rallied evenly to finish ahead of two of these. Deserves a shot on firm ground as he drops from the open allowance ranks. -Dan Illman
2:50 WO 2nd DOUBLE THE HEART (#1, 9-2) is adding blinkers for the stretchout to 1 1/16 miles, and could wire this $5K field in his first try around two turns. He possesses a blend of speed and stamina in his pedigree. -Ron Gierkink
3:25 WO 3rd SUMMER LOAD (#1, 6-1) is by the hot freshman sire Reload, who's 4 for 9 with first-timers and 1 for 7 with his turf progeny. The Kentucky-bred gelding is a half-brother to the G2-placed Vero Amore ($252K). -Ron Gierkink

3:38 BEL 6th MAGIC MOJO (#8, 6-1) was away last and just went evenly in his sprint debut back in June and he ran better when stretched out for his next start; was in contention coming to midstretch in that spot when bumped hard and knocked off stride by the talented Price Talk, who was disqualified for that infraction, before returning to win his next start impressively with an 86 Beyer; expecting him to be forward as he stretches out. -Mike Beer
4:12 BEL 7th LIGHT THE POSSE (#11, 15-1) made a belated turf debut last summer at Saratoga, where he came with a game late run from off the lace to run by the leaders with a 77 Beyer and made only one turf start after that, where he had no chance in a pace-dominated race; starts back for an excellent layoff trainer and think his future may lie on this surface. -Mike Beer
4:57 KEE 8th ECLECTIC SOUL (#7, 12-1) sent to PID to debut for a barn that rarely hits with first-timers and ran that sprint like a horse who wants a route, which she gets here. Eye-catching work pattern. Harty is running a Hawthorne string right now and interesting they ship this fill to KEE. Will be a price for sure. -Marcus Hersh
5:07 WO 6th HIGH SOCIETY GIRL (#7, 6-1) dueled for the lead before fading to fifth behind three rivals who came back to run well when descending to this OS/$40K level second-time out Sept. 3. -Ron Gierkink
5:52 BEL 10th WHATMAKESSAMMYRUN (#12, 9-2) had his debut rained off the turf and wound up contesting a fast pace in that spot going seven furlongs, before tiring in the stretch; bred for this surface, being a half-brother to multiple Grade 3 turf winner Shakhimat, and that debut experience can serve him well in this spot. -Mike Beer
6:03 KEE 10th TWIRLING WILDCAT (#6, 6-1) broke from the rail facing 11 in his career debut, couldn't make the front, didn't really settle, and faded off the scene. Regroup. Drop from MSW to $40K maidens, take blinkers off, turf to dirt, work regularly - looks like W Ward could have him right for this one. -Marcus Hersh
6:11 WO 8th NORTHERN DIAMOND (#8, 3-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Ron Gierkink).
8:07 RP 1st GOSPEL CARLO (#7, 8-1) has been facing higher-priced open company foes and now moves back to the Oklahoma-bred ranks for what will be his third start since December. -Mary Rampellini
9:59 RP 5th CALCULATING KING (#1, 15-1) is back in the claiming ranks, site of his last win, off a fourth-place in a first-level allowance won by a multiple stakes winner. -Mary Rampellini
10:27 RP 6th YA GOTTA WANNA (#3, 5-1) has some back class to call upon and also is one of several top contenders on the card for the high percentage trainer-jockey team of Steve Asmussen and Stewart Elliott. -Mary Rampellini
