Barbara D. Livingston First post for Belmont at the Big A racing is scheduled for 12:40 p.m. ET on Thursday.

Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook – something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day’s action.

12:25 LRL 1st GALA STAR (#6, 9-2) gained valuable experience from a sharp half-mile dash at Timonium. The fourth-finisher then placed in a Charles Town special weight with a 61 Beyer. Perhaps we'll see more early interest as he drops for barn that went 3 for the last 11 (27%, $2.09 ROI) with second-time starters moving from special weight to maiden claiming. -Dan Illman

2:44 BAQ 5th MISS BONNIE T (#4, 20-1) disappointed early on while racing competitively without fail; was finally putting things together at the end of her 4yo campaign, then only managed two starts last tear before missing time; has concentrated on sprinting this year, though the shorter sprints upstate don't really suit her, and thought she ran pretty well over this course and distance prior to that when asked to carry a long run and only flattening out late; back at the right level after getting in way too tough eleven days ago behind front-running Ever So Sweet. -Mike Beer

2:55 LRL 6th MATTA (#1, 10-1) prompted a quick pace from the inside, settled for the pocket, raced briefly in behind horses turning for home, squeezed through a tight spot in midstretch, then flattened out in the final furlong. He's a tactical sort that seems pace-adaptable, but one must demand value as he hasn't won in three years. -Dan Illman

3:26 LRL 7th STICKWITHTHECOLORS (#4, 5-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Dan Illman).

4:18 BAQ 8th MOONSCAPE (#10, 8-1) debuts for an underrated first-out trainer with some pedigree to back her up, as she is by the versatile sire Midshipman, from a dam who won on turf and who has dropped three turf winners, so far; appears to be training forwardly up to this. -Mike Beer

6:46 WO 5th SCARY SPEEDY (#5, 6-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Ron Gierkink).

7:15 WO 6th CHIPOTLE PEPPER (#3, 6-1) blew away $25K maidens in front-running style while switching from the inner turf to the Tapeta last out, beating two next-out winners in the process. She could strike again in this $25K NW2 tilt, which doesn't contain much other speed. -Ron Gierkink

8:57 RP 4th AMMENTHEDESTROYER (#4, 9-2) split a field of steeper rivals last out at Remington. -Mary Rampellini
