Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook – something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day’s action. 12:25 LRL 1st VOILA BABY (#4, 5-1) got up close to a moderate pace while three deep, then had no problems upsetting a weaker field of conditioned claimers at Delaware Park. It will be interesting to see how she handles this class hike in her circuit debut, but she has enough tactical speed to get close to the pace and a strong weight break with capable apprentice rider named. -Dan Illman 1:42 GPW 4th SLIPPY (#2, 12-1) is a bit of a stab after fading badly in his last two. However, he was chasing a repeat winner, $8K N3L 68 Beyer, in his latest, he should be a decent price, and there is not a lot of speed in this field. He could get brave if he breaks on top. -Randy Goulding 1:57 BEL 3rd VIP NATION (#5, 3-1) was taken for $25k two starts back and she had an excuse in that last one when stumbling at the start and then checking back to last, before racing up to take over on the early lead; also had a big excuse over this distance off the layoff when almost unseating her rider at the start, and he prior seven-furlong turf start resulted in an easy, front-running score with a Beyer of 85. -Mike Beer 2:00 LRL 3rd Thought the rail was the place to be on October 10 and both odds-on Kisses for Heidi and Bourbon Wildcat, the one-two finishers in the eighth race, raced along the inside for most of the way. RONA (#6, 10-1), however, broke from the far outside post position and ended up stalking the pace off the rail on the backstretch. Victor Rosales tried to save as much ground as possible on the turn, but he had to alter course outside the top two turning into the stretch. Rona tried in the stretch, but just couldn’t get there. She’ll have to improve against this field, but her Beyer Speed Figures are going the right way and she should offer some value on the tote. -Dan Illman 2:16 GPW 5th MAN OF VISION (#9, 7-2) romped here last year and did the same when he came back for his first start in 11 months in his latest at Gulfstream. He could be a handful if the race gets moved to the main track. -Randy Goulding :: Want to get your Past Performances for free? She performed well on the Tapeta last year under Hernandez, and should be prominent in this $20K claimer with that tightener under her girth. -Ron Gierkink 3:24 GPW 7th FOUZIA (#1, 5-2) is a DRF Best Bet (Randy Goulding). 3:46 LRL 6th HIGH LIMIT ROOM (#14, 8-1) is by a precocious sire that also does very well with turf runners (Kantharos scores with 16% of first-grass starters and turf sprinters). The dam placed on turf, has foaled a turf winner and is a half-sister to stakes-winning turf router Crimson China. The second dam was a stakes-winning turf sprinter. Breezed in 9 4/5 seconds prior to the March auction and might show improved early foot switching surfaces. -Dan Illman :: Click to learn about our DRF's Free Past Performance program. 3:51 KEE 6th This is a hell of a turf allowance race. Am very interested in ARTIE’S RUMOR(#1, 9-2), who is just the sort of older turf horse that trainer M Maker has claimed and done well with over and over for the last several years. The horse has been super consistent for three seasons and has earned a shot at the N2X allowance class after the $40K claim and four works, including notably fast ones Oct. 3 and Oct. 10. He’s an excellent positional pace horse who can lead, press, or stalk with equal effectiveness, and looking for a step up to a new level today. -Marcus Hersh 3:56 WO 4th ROSE RING (#5, 5-1) dominated $5K NW3 stock last time as the favorite. She should be an adequate fit in this open $5K claimer with Contreras retaining the mount. -Ron Gierkink 4:14 BEL 7th ATTENTIVE (#3, 4-1) was claimed out of a win for this price at Lone Star and has concentrated on turf for his new trainer with some success while making his lone main track start for Broberg in too tough of a spot; has improved for this trainer and appears to be entered at the right level for his NY debut. -Mike Beer 4:24 KEE 7th LEMON CHILL (#1, 7-2) claimed out of last and given a $20K claiming-price boost with a string of very encouraging works since his last start. Wouldn’t get too wrapped up in the barn’s 0-fer record with first-off-claim runners. -Marcus Hersh 4:33 WO 5th CAPOEIRA (#11, 20-1) was probably best in a recent optional claimer at Fort Erie, but she had to settle for second after getting stuck in traffic on the far turn. She could make noise at a square price in this $10K sprint going seven-eighths on the main turf. -Ron Gierkink 4:57 KEE 8th BLACKBERRY WINE (#3, 5-1) perhaps most famous for winning a maiden race after having finished first in two previous starts, that whole situation swept into the J Sharp positive tests for an illegal raceday medication at Churchill and Fair Grounds last fall and winter. All that aside, this horse can run, and the speed he showed in the two-turn races might effectively translate to a stalk-and-pounce trip in this pace-filled race over about 7 1/2 furlongs. Shiny work pattern for comeback. -Marcus Hersh :: Start earning weekly cashback on your wagering today. Above-average work pattern for sure and very likely a long price. -Marcus Hersh 5:39 WO 7th THE GOOD WITCH (#3, 10-1) wasn’t all that far back in seventh behind the likes of Queen’s Speed and Hello Friends last time vs. NW2 OS/$40K opposition. She should have these $25K NW2 rivals within her sights if things go her way. -Ron Gierkink 9:31 RP 4th CANADA CANDY (#9, 4-1) makes the meaningful move to the maiden claiming ranks for the first time and also has an experience edge on most of her rivals in sprint for 2-year-old fillies bred in Oklahoma. -Mary Rampellini 11:23 RP 8th BOX SEAT (#4, 5-1) moved back to turf last out and popped a career-high Beyer Speed Figure and the out came against steeper. This also marks the third start of his form cycle. -Mary Rampellini
