Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook – something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day’s action.
12:25 LRL 1st LANGLEE AVENUE (#6, 20-1) seemed to lose all chance on the first turn of that last run, as he was floated very wide at that crucial point, which is usually a very tough trip to overcome; he did finish off the board but he wasn't badly beaten, showing some late interest, and he has room to improve today given some racing luck. -Kenny Peck
1:18 AQU 3rd TENEBRIS (#1, 12-1) is by versatile sire Violence and a half to a two-time turf winner; dams only turf starts came vs. graded stakes rivals, but she was a stakes winner sprinting on synthetic; contends here if he can transfer his dirt form over to the grass for a trainer who shows three wins and six seconds from 19 starters with non-maidens after a trainer change ($2.22 ROI). -Mike Beer
1:46 AQU 4th RIDE UP (#8, 5-1) hit the board in six of eight MSW starts to begin his career. while bumping into some nice horses; got the maiden win when dropped in class and cut back to sprint two back; drops and cuts back again for his second start off the claim. -Mike Beer
1:54 LRL 4th GALATIANS (#3, 12-1) could be very well spotted in his first start off the claim, as there does seem to be ample pace in the field to set up a closer and he may have the best late kick of them all; may be able to make the last run given a clean trip and honest fractions to chase. -Kenny Peck
2:24 LRL 5th SOUTHERN SAINT (#10, 30-1) is kin to Cast No Stones, who won a turf sprint in her first attempt under those conditions, for this same outfit, and this gelding may be able to surprise in his career debut against this seemingly average field; figures to offer some value, too. -Kenny Peck
3:14 AQU 7th BILLY'S GOT ISSUES (#4, 8-1) improved when switched to turf for the third start of his career, then improved again to break his maiden with a game late run a month later; has been rained off a couple of times since that last time at Saratoga, where he ran better than it looks while rallying into a rated pace. -Mike Beer
3:24 LRL 7th WISE AND ELEGANT (#3, 15-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Kenny Peck).
3:42 AQU 8th NO SALT (#1, 30-1) looked good dusting weaker off the layoff in his return to the Volk barn, and there were two next-out winners behind him - third-place finisher Brasstown won two starts later with an 87 Beyer; drops out of a couple of stakes tries for his return to Aqueduct, where he has won his last two starts around one turn with Beyers of 90 and 92. -Mike Beer
6:13 WO 4th TAZMAN (#1, 10-1) was softened up in a speed duel through fast splits when exiting a three-month absence at this $25K NW2 class Oct. 8. There's other speed in this field, but the Florida-bred might be able to go all the way with that tightener under his girth. -Ron Gierkink
7:40 WO 7th COMPUTER HACKER (#2, 6-1), who placed in two of his six sprint races, is bred to handle the stretchout to a mile and 70 yards in this $25K maiden contest. The son of Cloud Computing figures to be a square price under the guidance of a pretty good sprint/route trainer. -Ron Gierkink
10:27 RP 6th COUNTRY CAPER (#2, 4-1) split the field last out in his first start of the year and would seem to have reason to move forward in his second race back. -Mary Rampellini
12:19 RP 10th LA MORENA (#4, 5-1) is seeking to turn the tables on CANADA CANDY and will be shortening up to the distance of her last win. -Mary Rampellini
