DRF's Horse Racing Playbook for Thursday, May 19, 2022

Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook – something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day’s action.
1:14 PIM 2nd SECOND TERM (#9, 6-1) moves from dirt to turf and should be legged up after two starts off the long layoff. Lone turf outing last spring resulted in a solid fourth-place finish against $40,000 waiver maidens. -Dan Illman | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
1:39 GP 2nd PARTNER'S HOPE (#6, 5-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Mike Welsch). | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
3:29 PIM 6th Although EPIC IDEA (#3, 5-1) is best known for finishing first in two editions of the Maryland Million Ladies at nine furlongs, she's also won several turf sprints. Received an excellent pace-tracking, ground-saving trip behind fast fractions when capturing the 2021 Ladies, and could certainly use pace help in first start following 208-day layoff. -Dan Illman | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
4:40 BEL 4th ANADOR (#6, 9-2) gamely ran down a clear leader to break her maiden upon arriving from France first time for Clement, then got a bit unlucky in the Tepin when failing to come clear in the stretch; ran well first-time Lasix iff the layoff when wired by a filly who returned to place in the Honey Ryder; Clement had a cutback turf winner up from Gulfstream on Sunday. -Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
5:43 BEL 6th OUR TROUBADOUR (#4, 15-1) ran better than it looks off the layoff last year when bumped hard from both sides at the start to wind up last; also ran well in his next two starts vs. better in seven-furlong races that are beyond his best; starts back in the right kind of field as a new gelding and has plenty of back races that would give him a real chance in here. -Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
6:15 BEL 7th REJECTED AGAIN (#3, 6-1) has faced much tougher in his first two starts for Rice after returning from a layoff, including that $40k claimer most recently when winding up last early; has raced this cheaply in the past and he doesn't have to leave himself that much to do. -Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
7:10 CBY 3rd ANDREAS (#8, 12-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Scott Ehlers). | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
7:35 LS 1st THREEWICKEDWISHES (#3, 8-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Scott Ehlers). | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
7:40 CBY 4th BIG BLUE NOTE (#7, 5-1) is feeling great. She has good speed but there is other speed to her inside/outside. Lopez is 26% for this barn. -Scott Ehlers | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
8:10 CBY 5th VIOLIN MAKER (#10, 8-1) is by a 20% debut turf sire. His dam went 4-0-0-0 on the green and earned 7K. One of three sibs won on the grass. Second time with new barn can only help and this gelding should love two turns (395 distance Tomlinson). Outside post can't be helped. -Scott Ehlers | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
8:31 LS 3rd TEXAS ATTITUDE (#2, 8-1) is by a new sire. Her dam went 16-3-4-2 and earned 136K. This is her first foal. Work tab is very nice as should be the price. We like this inside draw that isn't the rail. -Scott Ehlers | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
9:10 CBY 7th LYRICAL (#9, 12-1) is by a 3% debut turf sire. Her dam went 3-2-0-0 on the grass and earned 28K (won sod debut). Lone sibling is full sister Key Biscayne who went 17-1-3-2 on the green and earned a nice 165K. Current form is sharp and this filly might love the green. -Scott Ehlers | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
7:20 WBS (Harness) 2nd CENTURY HEFNER (#7, 6-1) wasn't asked for anything in his first race back until the final 1/8th of a mile and he had some live legs in the middle of the track at the wire. That looked like a start that he obviously needed and I'll give him the call to upset. – Garnet Barnsdale | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
8:40 YR (Harness) 6th DC BATGIRL (#6, 7-1) makes her second start back after a freshening here and trainer Robert Cleary can have one ready to fire. I don't mind that she gets a shot with driver Jason Bartlett either. – Greg Reinhart | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
