1:00 GP 1st KAYSERI (#9, 6-1) looking to do much better first off the Bobby DiBona claim than she did in her Casse farewell; Wildcat-bred miss has a better turn of foot than than the majority of these others, and that could come in handy from the get-go; stable tends to do its best work with grassers such as her. -Marty McGee
2:59 OP 2nd LIL RESPECT (#10, 10-1) has seen steeper in the past and has an age edge on most of these as she is 4. PRAIRIE DRESS brings good speed to the table and could prove to be the one these will have to catch. She faces older rivals for the first time, but most of her foes in this spot are also 3. -Mary Rampellini

3:03 GP 5th Even after the poor start, SISTER OTOOLE (#4, 3-1) persisted to be a solid third in her first try under the Eclipse black and light blue; seems to face a rather soft group of state-breds when retaining Castellano; very skeptical the 3-1 M/L will be there when they break, but let’s call her the day’s best nonetheless. -Marty McGee
3:54 OP 4th FIVE STAR KIP (#9, 8-1) invades from New Mexico, where he has lined up against some quality rivals. He also is cutting back to one turn here, and as such looking for him to be strong through the stretch. -Mary Rampellini
5:38 GP 10th Back on familiar ground and in a new barn, THE MIGHTY JUDGE (#11, 6-1) is eligible to reverse that poor last finish when jamming right back for this $16k tag; several of his priors at a higher level are worthy of a close look; adds the red-hot jock as a bonus. -Marty McGee

5:51 OP 8th SEVEN NATION ARMY (#9, 6-1) was second last out in a quick race won by a runner who has paired up Beyer Figures in the 90s this meet at Oaklawn. In addition, the race has become a key one. The third-place finisher came back in his next start to account for a $50K claiming race with a Beyer Figure of 84, and the sixth-place finisher, K Choice, an optional $62,500 claiming race at OP, with a Beyer of 87. -Mary Rampellini
5:51 OP 8th GLORY STARS (#10, 15-1) “classes up” with anyone in this high-end allowance / claimer, the issue being a layoff that started Aug. 21. Trainer blanked so far this OP meet actually shows longer-term success with such comeback runners: 11-2-1-3 with horses 15-1 or lower first after a layoff between two months & 1 year. Work gap between 1/28 & 2/23 but what’s come since then encourages enough to take a price. – Marcus Hersh

6:19 OP 9th The May foal SPECIAL DAY (#4, 7-2) makes an equipment move here. The blinkers are removed after he tested the equipment out last race at Oaklawn. This one has seen some notable rivals in Southern California. -Mary Rampellini
