DRF's Horse Racing Playbook for Thursday, June 3, 2021

Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook – something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day’s action.
12:50 GP 1st MYFAVORITEDAUGHTER (#7, 7-2) stalked from a three-wide position en route to finishing a clear third behind two of the favorites at first asking on the main track. The daughter of 13% turf sire Carpe Diem is out of mare who placed on turf, and she produced a grass winner. -Ron Gierkink | Get PPs for this race
1:20 GP 2nd HANG ON HONEY (#7, 10-1) worked the five-furlong distance of this $50K maiden dash twice, which might give her an edge on all the other first-timers in the lineup. Mucho Macho Man has sired 13% 2yo first-out winners, and the Reeves homebred is the first foal from a dirt stakes winner who placed at 2. -Ron Gierkink | Get PPs for this race
3:27 GP 6th FRANKIE’S GIRL (#2, 5-1) lost a heartbreaker last time vs. $35K NW2 claimers in her first try for Perez, who was 3 for 8 (38%) second-time off the claim over the last five years ($2.90 ROI). She’s a good fit in this $35K optional starter Beyer-wise, in which she has some speed to chase. -Ron Gierkink | Get PPs for this race
3:38 BEL 2nd GAILHORSEWIND (#3, 6-1) broke slowly in her debut on Derby Day and proceeded to race greenly thereafter in a race she likely needed; failed to keep a straight course in the stretch costing herself further and can benefit from having that experience for a trainer who tends to improve them after a race. -Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race
4:31 GP 8th KANTHAROS’ IMAGE (#3, 7-2) came outside from fourth to finish a lapped-on second when moving up to this N1X/optional-claiming class a month ago. The steady veteran retains second-leading rider Jaramillo. -Ron Gierkink | Get PPs for this race
6:15 BEL 7th CONSTITUTION GAL (#3, 8-1) debuted from the outside post sprinting on grass and chased wide to no avail as the Wesley Ward filly Twilight Gleaming dominated that field on the lead; prefer runners from this barn after a race and think this one might be better than that race makes her look. -Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race
6:40 CBY 2nd YOU GOT THIS (#4, 9-2) has speed in a race without much pace. We love the jock switch to Negron who was the leading rider at the recently competed Turf Paradise meet. At this shortened sprint distance a good break and early zip go a long way. -Scott Ehlers | Get PPs for this race
6:45 BEL 8th PLUM ALI (#10, 5-1) did not draw well for this distance on the inner turf, and she is going to need to work out a trip vs. this field; was a very good 2yo last year while winning the first three starts of her career, before enduring a bit of a trip at the Breeders’ Cup, and she ran better than it looks in her 3yo debut last time while gamely gaining late in a pace-dominated race. -Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race
8:10 CBY 5th WITHHERBOOTSON (#6, 15-1) is by a 14% debut turf sire. Her dam went 4-1-0-2 and earned 73K on the grass (won sod debut). Three sibs a combined 4-0-0-0 on the green. Newly minted 3YO could love the grass at a price. -Scott Ehlers | Get PPs for this race
9:10 CBY 7th BOGEY BLUE (#2, 15-1) broke 10th of 12 in his debut last summer so there is your excuse. All 3 sibs won with 2 having beat winners to the tune of 91K and 128K. -Scott Ehlers | Get PPs for this race
9:40 CBY 8th STITZY (#9, 5-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Scott Ehlers). | Get PPs for this race
