Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook – something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day’s action.
1:05 SAR 1st SHE'S KEEN (#3, 4-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Mike Beer). | Get PPs for this race
1:43 LRL 3rd CAMELIA ROD (#3, 4-1) gave a good try in first start at this level. Bumped shortly after the start, she tracked the pace outside, bid three deep on the turn and was second best. She should appreciate getting back out to the distance of her lone win. Corujo lands here instead of Tizita. -Dan Illman | Get PPs for this race
2:42 LRL 5th M'LADY THATCHER (#3, 7-2) prompted the pace three wide, bid on that path on the turn, and was second-best behind odds-on Prima Ballerina. Consistent filly has hit the board in all of her starts, acts like the mile is well within her scope and has the tactical speed to work out a good trip while close to the pace. Wore a hood in all four prior starts and gets blinkers for this assignment. Gaudet barn went 3 for 9 (33%, $4.20 ROI) between July 8 and July 17. -Dan Illman | Get PPs for this race
3:43 LRL 7th Curious to see what we get from WALK AWAY JOE (#2, 7-2) as he makes his first start following a 314-day layoff. Left the scene in good form as he worked out a sweet inside-out stalking trip to best $25,000 claimers over course and distance (the fifth-finisher returned to win three of his next six starts with Beyers ranging between 67 and 93). -Dan Illman | Get PPs for this race
3:55 SAR 6th BELLESHAZZA (#9, 12-1) was rated back after having to steady at the start two back with Rosario about for the first time, and she had too much to do in the stretch of that race while passing some horses; went forward last time but was no match for odds-on Quaria Thunder on the pace and couldn't last for second in the late stages; tries again back at the same level. -Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race
5:05 SAR 8th MR BREADWINNER (#7, 15-1) needed his sprint debut while chasing wide and getting bounced around between horses in the stretch; stretched out for his second start and won easily with blinkers on after cutting a solid pace; not sure why they tried turf in his first two starts vs. other winners but he is better on this surface and is bred to stretch out. -Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race
6:13 SAR 10th LORD GATLING (#7, 10-1) was wide chasing a loose and odds-on Motion to Strike before coming up short in his NY debut two back over a wet track, then returned to win his next start after contesting a quick pace for the level; in form and bred for turf as he makes the surface switch off the claim. -Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race
6:27 WO 4th ANALYZER (#9, 4-1) placed in both of his starts at this stand at this level, behind the likes of Reconfigure and Corduroy Road. He worked a bullet half-mile the other day, and seems poised to put it all together in his third race after a sabbatical with a hot Stein back in the tack. -Ron Gierkink | Get PPs for this race
6:59 WO 5th JUST START ME UP (#2, 8-1) set a fast pace before fading to fourth behind two of his current rivals in another $25K NW2 route three weeks ago. The big dark bay should be less-aggressive here with blinkers off and Patrick Husbands back on. -Ron Gierkink | Get PPs for this race
7:57 WO 7th FEDALIA (#4, 7-2) never threatened during a wide trip last out in a first-level allowance around two turns on the inner turf. She was previously first via disqualification in a NW2 sprint on the main course, and is a good fit in this NW3 event going six furlongs on the main turf. -Ron Gierkink | Get PPs for this race
8:30 DMR 8th ATTENZIONE (#7, 6-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Brad Free). | Get PPs for this race
8:20 WBS (Harness) 5th MERCUTIO (#8, 4-1) looked good in his race last week and the move he made to get close to a leader that was never going to get passed as she extended a lengthy win streak. A similarly aggressive approach can get the job done here. – Garnet Barnsdale | Get PPs for this race
