DRF's Horse Racing Playbook for Thursday, July 22, 2021

Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook – something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day’s action.
1:38 WO 2nd THE MIGHTY JUDGE (#1, 7-2) wired optional claimers with ease going a mile on the infield turf at Fort Erie after a break June 15. He’s a good fit in this $20K seller with Wilson replacing the suspended Salles. -Ron Gierkink | Get PPs for this race
2:36 WO 4th BEARTHESTORM (#8, 8-1) closed strongly for second after breaking awkwardly from an inside post in her seasonal bow vs. $7.5K maidens. This $15K maiden event isn’t all that tough, and she could find the mark with Skye riding for Cotey, a live combo. -Ron Gierkink | Get PPs for this race
3:10 WO 5th LET’S GET IT DID (#4, 6-1) was beaten in double digits in both of her outings against tougher on turf and the Tapeta. She’s halving in price from a race that’s produced two next-out winners, and has probably found her proper place in the scheme of things. -Ron Gierkink | Get PPs for this race
3:21 SAR 5th HAIL TO (#3, 9-2) a Kitten’s Joy firster from a very productive dam who counts Grade 1 winner Sadler’s Joy (earner of over $2 million on the grass) and stakes-placed Dyna Passer among her first few foals; Albertrani isn’t known to crank them up for early success but he has quietly been going well lately and he did send out two debut winners late last year, including another half-brother to this filly in Wolfie’s Dynaghost. -Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race
3:42 WO 6th IN MY OPINION (#5, 4-1) lacked room early in the stretch before fading when coming off the bench in a five-furling inner turf dash. She placed behind the likes of Drunk Dial and Gote Go here last fall, and might be ready to pop here with Stein inheriting the mount from the sidelined Fukumoto. -Ron Gierkink | Get PPs for this race
3:55 SAR 6th CAPTAINSDAUGHTER (#10, 8-1) had her career debut rained off at Monmouth 12 days ago but she was unfazed by the surface switch and showed good speed to chase the pace from the start, before staying gamely for 2nd in a useful run; filly by excellent turf sire Midshipman can build off of that effort at a price. -Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race
5:39 SAR 9th PLAYED HARD (#1A, 3-1) was moving right along on a solid pace before just getting nailed on the wire by Portilla back in April; stretched out for the first time last month and ran the best race of her career while using her speed to control the front, and then staying on well through the stretch; dangerous right back on the lead, though the mare to her outside does have speed. -Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race
6:13 SAR 10th SOCIAL WHIRL (#4, 7-2) is a DRF Best Bet (Mike Beer). | Get PPs for this race
