Post Time: 1:41 ET Track: Aqueduct (2nd Race) Horse: FREE DANCE (#1, 4-1) FREE DANCE earned a career-best 79 Beyer winning his first start off the claim for these connections, while making it 2 for 2 in his career over wet tracks; finished gamely from last at this level two back, then loomed up at the top of the stretch atfer chasing, only to tire behind today's rival REGISTER when last seen in December; freshened up and back to six furlongs. -Mike Beer | Get Past Performances for this race Post Time: 2:02 ET Track: Oaklawn (2nd Race) Horse: WINDY BAY (#5, 5-1) WINDY BAY hooked a quality kind of winner last out, with that one returning to score Saturday at Oaklawn. -Mary Rampellini | Get Past Performances for this race Post Time: 2:45 ET Track: Fair Grounds (3rd Race) Horse: ANITA'S VISION (#4, 10-1) ANITA'S VISION ran some decent Fair Grounds dirt routes way back during the 2021-22 season and has done her best work at the track. It's been a steady slide over the last couple years but once she got down to the right level last summer she popped a couple wins. Only her last two have come at this $5K level, the lowest at FG: Combination of a sloppy track and making a comeback start she likely needed led to a no-show two back, but she was much better Jan. 19 and seems headed third after the layoff to a peak far below her career best but perhaps high enough to win this. -Marcus Hersh | Get Past Performances for this race Post Time: 3:14 ET Track: Aqueduct (5th Race) Horse: ROYAL EVENT (#5, 5-1) ROYAL EVENT scored in back-to-back races at big prices on this track last March, before subsequently trying some tougher spots to no avail; failed to be competitive in her last two starts in the claiming ranks, though she was facing tougher than this both times; Quick does excellent work with the opportunities he is given, and he is particularly good with new acquisitions - past five years, first with trainer (either claim or trainer change); 7 for 42, 17%, $3.53 ROI (with four others in that sample finishing second, all at prices). -Mike Beer | Get Past Performances for this race Post Time: 3:15 ET Track: Fair Grounds (4th Race) Horse: CUSTOM DESIGN (#3, 12-1) CUSTOM DESIGN is a 7-year-old but still a low-mileage model: Just 14 starts. She reaches the third start of a form cycle for the first time since June 2024, when she won, and appears to be going very well this winter. The barn brought her back in January from another long layoff and tossed her right into LA-bred stakes competition; she wasn't overmatched as a 22-1 shot at FG two back, and was even more competitive last out at Delta as a 38-1 chance. -Marcus Hersh | Get Past Performances for this race Post Time: 3:45 ET Track: Aqueduct (6th Race) Horse: THIRTEEN G'S (#1, 5-1) THIRTEEN G'S faced rivals like Stiglets, Fact, and Duke of Duval early on; took advantage of class relief to break his maiden off a layoff in November, then lost his chance at the start when brought to NY off the claim here two weeks ago; still has room to improve. -Mike Beer | Get Past Performances for this race Post Time: 3:50 ET Track: Gulfstream (8th Race) Horse: PARADISE STREET (#10, 5-1) PARADISE STREET finally makes switch to turf, not surprising since she is a half to multiple graded turf SW Reef Runner. Good enough to split Omaha Bay and Swing Vote, those two among the favorites in Saturday's G2 Davona Dale. Expect to see this one on or close up throughout on stretch around two turns. -Mike Welsch | Get Past Performances for this race Post Time: 4:21 ET Track: Gulfstream (9th Race) Horse: SAMARITAN'S JOY (#6, 6-1) SAMARITAN'S JOY the only multiple winner in this field and like the way she closed ground albeit from better part of track going seven panels in last. Turns back to six, catches a field full of early pace. Can be along in time once again with repeat effort. -Mike Welsch | Get Past Performances for this race Post Time: 4:35 ET Track: Oaklawn (7th Race)     Horse: MY GUN'S LOADED (#6, 8-1) MY GUN'S LOADED is a February foal who hooked a quick crowd last out, with the winner coming back to take the Dixie Belle at OP with a Beyer of 84 and the third-place finisher, a maiden allowance at OP, with a Beyer of 73. The latter is entered back in the Honeybee on Sunday at Oaklawn. -Mary Rampellini | Get Past Performances for this race Post Time: 4:45 ET Track: Fair Grounds (7th Race) Horse: BIG D (#6, 8-1) BIG D with two very tame performances after showing up in Kentucky following his early races at Hawthorne - and I think he's capable of better than both of those runs. Worked four times since his last race, and while down to $30K claiming, he's been in for $50K, and this drop doesn't seem like they're giving up on him. -Marcus Hersh | Get Past Performances for this race Post Time: 4:51 ET Track: Gulfstream (10th Race) Horse: DOLCE VINO (#3, 6-1) DOLCE VINO turned in a promising effort last time when over-coming a horrible start to finish mid-pack and less than 2 lengths off the winner under similar conditions as she encounters in the finale. Tons of speed in here could set her up to be along in time especially if able to break with the others. -Mike Welsch | Get Past Performances for this race Post Time: 5:07 ET Track: Oaklawn (8th Race) Horse: SCOT'S LAW (#2, 4-1) SCOT'S LAW is a DRF Best Bet (Mary Rampellini). | Get Past Performances for this race Post Time: 5:19 ET Track: Turf Paradise (5th Race) Horse: KNOCKOUT GUY (#3, 8-1) KNOCKOUT GUY returns to the dirt where he ran great only two back. What if this guy just hates the local sod? Alas, he won't be 14-1 again. This guy just needs to relax early off what might be a quick pace before starting his one run. -Scott Ehlers | Get Past Performances for this race Post Time: 7:25 ET Track: Turfway (4th Race) Horse: EVERYTHING BUGS ME (#6, 8-1) EVERYTHING BUGS ME catches a race with good pace and can pass runners. That was an even effort off the layoff all while first time here. Class drop makes perfect sense and this horse did run well in SoCal. The blinkers go ON but we don't think that will interfere with stalking trip. -Scott Ehlers | Get Past Performances for this race Post Time: 9:25 ET Track: Turfway (8th Race) Horse: HIGHLY FLAMMABLE (#1, 10-1) HIGHLY FLAMMABLE has solid figs, draws fine, has a slew of recent works, and some tactical speed. New barn is 33% off the claim. What if this guy just likes it here? -Scott Ehlers | Get Past Performances for this race Post Time: 10:25 ET Track: Turfway (10th Race) Horse: MENCKE (#11, 12-1) MENCKE is by a 9% debut sire. His dam went 17-4-4-3 and earned 263K (won 2YO debut). Of 7 sibs to race, 4 won and all 4 beat winners (188K, 142K, 178K, and 138K). This colt draws fine and has well-spaced works. -Scott Ehlers | Get Past Performances for this race Looking for more action? It’s easier than ever to pick a winner with DRF Newbie.
