DRF's Horse Racing Playbook for Thursday, February 10, 2022

Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook – something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day’s action.
12:25 LRL 1st RAHMER (#7, 5-1) broke slow in a race that was run through a blinding snowstorm, then was held up in last behind a slow pace set by 1 to 5 winner Treasure Tradition. He angled three wide turning for home and was game to get up for third. Barn scored with maiden claiming sprint winner Thurster (9 to 1 odds) here on Feb. 3. -Dan Illman | Get PPs for this race
12:30 GP 1st Tapeta opener looks fairly well-matched, with LUCKY AS A SEVEN (#5, 15-1) getting a tepid nod from this corner following that failed stretchout for the Avila barn; latest at least helped toward the fitness as he'll be looking to collar the earlier goers with a late surge. -Marty McGee | Get PPs for this race
12:56 LRL 2nd Perhaps HARD FOUGHT (#5, 9-2) moved up on the wet track, but he sure looked good in first start off the Dilodovico reclaim. Set the pace while only facing moderate pressure from 7 to 1 shot Federale (finished fourth) and soon scooted clear as much the best. He's performed well on fast ground and from off the pace in the past. The barn is 4 for the last 14 (29%, $2.92 ROI) with last-out winners on dirt. -Dan Illman | Get PPs for this race
1:25 LRL 3rd PEACE OUT (#2, 6-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Dan Illman). | Get PPs for this race
1:28 GP 3rd Giving a huge chance to the second half of the uncoupled Brooksy entry, ON A TOUR (#5, 9-2), who picks up the hot-riding Jose after surely needing her latest over the synth.. -Marty McGee | Get PPs for this race
2:50 AQU 5th FLEET WARRIOR (#5, 12-1) was returning from a layoff last time when forced to duel the pace ahead of TALE OF MIST and MI TRES POR CIENTO; can forgive him for tiring in the stretch of that race, and he has plenty of prior races that make him a player in here, including a couple of wins over this track. -Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race
3:22 LRL 7th MINECRAFTER (#8, 12-1) showed no rust in first try following 113-day layoff and the connections look to strike while the iron is hot wheeling back on short notice. Received a beautiful trip and ride under Alexander Crispin as he saved ground behind a solid pace, split horses in midstretch and was getting away late. -Dan Illman | Get PPs for this race
3:25 AQU 6th Taking the position that the distance might be the deciding factor in this race, and PRETTY GOOD YEAR (#1, 20-1) seems likely to handle it as well as anyone as he returns to NY for the first time since last summer, where he faced a couple of much tougher fields to no avail; was outrun vs. a good group last time at Parx, and he wound up in a pretty tough spot behind horses in the stretch while trying to rally. -Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race
3:26 TUP 3rd IN THE DEEP (#6, 10-1) is the value. We like his work tab. This gelding comes in fresh and has some tactical speed to help his trip. Connections a bit un-lucky as this race came up tough but then again that helps the price. We like how this guy just likes to win versus the place/show at 19-6-1-1. -Scott Ehlers | Get PPs for this race
3:37 GP 7th Pegasus Day return to action by SONG OF INNOCENCE (#7, 5-1) obviously was overshadowed by events of the day, not to mention her more race-ready rivals in what turned out to be a very demanding 1x turf route, but she's in a different kind of spot today with added benefit of that effort under her belt; stretches out for a trainer (J.Thomas) who has them fit to go a looong way when adding Jose and looking to play a much larger role here from the outset. -Marty McGee | Get PPs for this race
3:56 TUP 4th BIG FASHION (#4, 8-1) is by a 14% debut sire. Her dam went 3-0-1-1 and banked 9K. All 3 sibs beat winners and earned 43K, 57K, and 113K. It is tough to debut going two turns but this filly has longer works over at Los Al. -Scott Ehlers | Get PPs for this race
4:27 TUP 5th COASTLINE SERMON (#4, 12-1) went wide last out but that is normal for this track just watch any sprint race. He did beat half the field home though and did so after breaking 9th of 12. Now he adds a half furlong which means only one thing... elongated sprint specialist. The price will entice. -Scott Ehlers | Get PPs for this race
9:20 WBS (Harness) 8th STONEBRIDGE STRONG (#4, 5-2) dominated last week in a strangely run race that featured a 1:06 1/5 middle half and he faces the same field here; call to repeat. - Garnet Barnsdale | Get PPs for this race
9:55 YR (Harness) 10th LADY ANN NO (#1, 5-2) backed up her third-place finish in her U.S. debut on 1/27 with a romping win at this level last Thursday, and she drew inside again tonight. - Greg Reinhart | Get PPs for this race
