DRF's Horse Racing Playbook for Thursday, December 10, 2020

Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook – something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day’s action.
1:45 AQU 4th SUL CANDY (#2, 5-1) brought $450k last year but failed to make it to the races, and is now making his belated debut as he approaches his fourth birthday, but is doing so for a trainer who has been on a monster run with his first time starters over the past several months - Clement 10 for his last 24 on debut dating back to September (42%, $4.72 ROI), and 6 for 7 with such horses at the recently completed Aqueduct Fall meet; this Candy Ride colt is out of Grade 2 and 3 winner One Caroline, who won the first five starts of her career, all of them routing on dirt. -Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
1:53 LRL 4th UNIVERSAL PAYDAY (#1, 6-1) might offer some value in a race that is wide open. Local tab is fine and we like the inside draw. The blinkers go ON and maybe, just maybe, this gelding gets first run on the speed. His lone distance try came five back as he won versus starter allowance foes at Saratoga. -Scott Ehlers | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets

2:15 AQU 5th PALM COURT (#6, 15-1) debuted on this surface at Kentucky Downs and went favored that day for Maker, before racing greenly and not showing much; got rained off last time and ran better than it looks while caught wide all the way chasing the pace and racing on to the end; willing to give her one more chance back on turf if she gets overlooked in this spot. -Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
2:23 LRL 5th DARE TO PROMISE (#8, 8-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Scott Ehlers). | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
2:36 GP 5th MEMPHIS SHOWBOAT (#2, 9-2) was third behind a good winner, who came back to win for $12.5K at Parx before ending up fourth in an Aqueduct stakes, the last time she tried the turf in an Oct. 7 N1X at Delaware. She's dropping to $20K after getting fried in a speed duel in a recent N1X that came off the turf at Laurel. -Ron Gierkink | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
2:45 AQU 6th THE LAST ACE (#3, 30-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Mike Beer). | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
3:23 LRL 7th ORBONTHEBAYOU (#7, 5-1) tried the turf and two turns in his debut and that alone is very difficult. We think he got what he needed from that start. He cuts back to an elongated sprint today and that makes perfect sense. This barn is 38% off this type of layoff and 33% going turf to dirt. -Scott Ehlers | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
3:36 GP 7th SOOTHING (#10, 8-1) ships in from Del Mar after running competitively in $50K starter allowance company, including a third-place finish against males two back at Golden Gate. She could make all the running in this $35K conditioned claimer, which doesn't have much other speed. -Ron Gierkink | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
4:13 AQU 9th LADY'S BOY (#3, 10-1) got bet for his debut at Saratoga but caught a sloppy track and faded after making a brief rush up to chase the pace early; was scratched from a similar spot Saturday when the track came up wet once again and may rate the benefit of the doubt over fast dirt. -Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
4:36 GP 9th BEAM OF LIGHT (#3, 7-2) beat two next-out winners when graduating in an Oct. 10 maiden special at Monmouth, and shouldn't be out of her league in this N1X/optional claimer. Her lone start over the GP turf course was a prominent third-place finish in March that preceded a layoff. -Ron Gierkink | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
7:28 LRC 8th MEETMEINCALI (#10, 7-2) ran okay first out vs. MSW rivals at GG, well enough to merit horse-to-beat status second time out. In his debut, he chased/pressed and tired. Now he drops to maiden-30, has the benefit of a race under his belt, and can only improve. No Cal-based trainer Isidro Tamayo won with 5 of his last 10 second-start maidens. -Brad Free | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
