Julie Wright First post for Woodbine racing is scheduled for 4:50 p.m. ET on Thursday.

Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook – something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day’s action.

3:27 SAR 5th AVENUE NIEL (#3, 6-1) was returning from an even longer layoff than this in the stateside debut over course and distance last summer, and she ran very well that day while making a premature move before weakening late; won her next start easier than it looks, then cut back slightly again in October and gained too late; lacks figure power but wants distance and don't think she is overmatched in this spot. – Mike Beer

6:19 SAR 10th TURF ROCKET (#3, 4-1) has been kept routing since the claim and has seen her form improve for the underrated Trombetta; used her tactical speed to pull a perfect trip en route to the maiden win with a top figure in March, and she has faced much tougher horses in all three starts since; steps back. – Mike Beer

6:04 DMR 3rd VIOLET STORM (#8, 8-1) drops to the bottom unrestricted claiming level ($8k) for her first start in more than three months. Her N2L claiming win three back, which was the last time she ran long on dirt, would be fast enough to defeat this field. She has tactical speed to be forwardly placed. – Brad Free

6:25 WO 4th INITTOWINIT (#3, 5-1) landed on the edges in two of her three turf outings, including vs. $10K maidens in her recent seasonal bow. The daughter of Flintshire is bred to be a late bloomer and this second start off an extended layoff could be a good one. – Ron Gierkink

6:35 DMR 4th LITTLE LADY LOU (#8, 7-2) is a DRF Best Bet (Brad Free).

6:55 WO 5th ECHO SEVEN (#8, 4-1) is coming off two straight front-running scores on the Tapeta and is looking to clear another condition in her turf debut vs. NW3 stock. Her dam dropped three winners from four turf starters and her trainer has decent turf/synth stats. – Ron Gierkink

8:23 WO 8th MOTORIN' MAGGIE (#8, 3-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Ron Gierkink).
