Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook – something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day’s action.
12:55 LRL 2nd ANGEL ART (#3, 12-1) tries sprinting on turf after a couple of grass routes followed by an off-turf sprint. Bumped leaving the gate two back, set a pressured pace inside of 86-1 shot Map Em Up (finished fifth), tried to sneak away through a quick third quarter of 23.81, then tired when a bit disappointing. The fourth finisher returned to win a first-level allowance with an 81 Beyer. Hasn't been this cheap on turf and think she can succeed by sitting off horses. Cruz departs for Lady Mosler (985 lbs. on 6/9). – Dan Illman | Get PPs for this race
2:20 SAR 3rd CAMM’ DUKE (#7, 12-1) didn't run poorly on debut last year before giving way up here, then got a break; struggled to find the right races upon his return and caught a class-dropping Mama's Gold (96 Beyer) when finally back to a sprint over fast dirt in January; has improved since then and has been in two strongly-run races the last two times he sprinted on this surface; turf to dirt second off the layoff. – Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race
3:26 SAR 5th LET’S GO BIG BLUE (#2, 4-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Mike Beer). | Get PPs for this race
3:56 LRL 8th MOBEER (#4, 12-1) gets pace and class test after wiring a double-restricted race over slop at Penn National. Got to the front in a heat where they ran 1-2 around, and just held sway. He's one of only two three-time winners in this field, however, and should be forwardly placed for barn that has had success shipping to this circuit with dirt horses. – Dan Illman | Get PPs for this race
4:27 LRL 9th TRUE BLUE PEARL (#9, 5-1) worked out a fine closer's trip in circuit debut. Settled in a good position behind a solid pace, saved ground on the second turn, angled out in the stretch, then got up for third with an okay gallop-out. Gets more ground to work with for barn that went 12 for 38 (32%, $3.27 ROI) between 7/15 and 7/30. – Dan Illman | Get PPs for this race
6:00 DMR 3rdThe outside post in a turf route is a challenge for Northern California shipper TABLE FOR TWO (#9, 6-1), but this N2L $32k claiming level is his first start for a claim tag and recent efforts against Golden Gate allowance fields are fast enough. An uncertain trip awaits from post 9, but he otherwise fits. | Get PPs for this race
6:52 WO 5th DREAM JEREEM (#4, 8-1) has a number of wake-up angles going for him, including blinkers on, first-time gelding, first-time turf, and a rider switch to Kimura. The son of superb turf sprint sire Astern is the second foal from grass winner. – Ron Gierkink | Get PPs for this race
7:21 WO 6th I’M SNOW ANGEL (#7, 6-1) rallied for fourth in both of her outings, after a tardy start at first asking and after saving ground until the quarter pole over an outside-favoring track most recently. She could be along for all the spoils if she gets some pace to chase. – Ron Gierkink | Get PPs for this race
