DRF's Horse Racing Playbook for Thursday, August 26, 2021

Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook – something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day’s action.
2:15 SAR 3rd ROYNE (#2, 8-1) had his career debut rained off the grass at Woodbine late last year and wound up running an excellent race while coming away second-best to a talented rival; wheeled back on relatively short rest for the Central Park where he drew outside and never landed a blow in a pace-dominated race; dangerous starting back for an excellent layoff trainer. – Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
3:10 WO 5th ENGLISH BISCUIT (#6, 6-1) got away slowly before racing wide throughout while rallying for second in her improved second start off the shelf going 6 ½ furlongs. The daughter of English Channel is stretching out with the pedigree of a router, and the move up in price from $10K to $25K isn’t all that significant when you size up the rest of the field. – Ron Gierkink | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
4:46 WO 8th BENLION (#8, 4-1) had a horrendous trip in his season debut in a maiden special on the grass, after which he ran fourth at this OS/$40K level on the Tapeta, and then sixth after a slow start in another maiden special on the main turf. Moran takes over for the drop back down to OS company, and could have the 4yo in contention for a high placing. – Ron Gierkink | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
5:39 SAR 9th LOVE AND MONEY (#10, 9-2) is a DRF Best Bet. – Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
6:00 DMR 3rd VANDER KELEN (#6, 5-1) returns from a long layoff with solid works and established from last year vs. rivals similar to these $16K claiming sprinters. His trainer’s comebackers are typically ready to fire. Mark Glatt is 6-for-12 since June with horses returning from layoffs of six months or more. – Brad Free | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
6:13 SAR 10th THE QUEENS JULES (#4, 10-1) is stepping up off the claim but has been in form on the main track and has gotten good results from his limited prior opportunities on the turf; picks up Irad and is interesting at what should be a fair price. – Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
6:30 DMR 4th LAW ABIDING (#6, 5-1) gets the call based on sharp works at San Luis Rey Downs, win-early pedigree, and a trainer who occasionally fires with this type. ‘ABIDIING is by Jimmy Creed, whose juvenile debut progeny win at an above-average 15 percent rate. The colt posted sharp works at SLR for trainer Richard Baltas, who went 3-for-6 at DMR last summer with turf-sprint-first-ers. – Brad Free | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
