DRF's Horse Racing Playbook for Thursday, April 7, 2022

Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook – something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day’s action.
1:05 GP 1st BAHAMIAN CAPTAIN (#8, 8-1) held own with better, Tapeta and turf, during late fall/early winter and may be well spotted back on synthetic to earn elusive diploma with repeat of his best. -Mike Welsch | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
1:12 LRL 2nd AMARETTO SOUR (#5, 12-1) is still lightly-raced with some upside and she returns to the circuit after an even performance around two turns at Charles Town. Wanted to get forward in that race, but was bumped along the rail in the opening furlong and would up tracking the pace from outside, made a three-wide bid on the final turn before finishing behind odds-on winner Out of Romance (returned to win a $5,000 "two-life" with a 31 Beyer). -Dan Illman | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
1:20 AQU 1st JOINT RESOLUTION (#8, 4-1) is a NY-bred on paper only, being by top turf sire Declaration of War and from an Augustin female family that includes Grade 1 Manhattan winner Spring Quality, as well as several other graded stakes performers on turf; Clement aces with first time starters of all kinds and this one shows up with some bullet breezes from Payson. -Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
2:29 OP 2nd TOTALIZER (#2, 5-1) did not get the break last out when closing for fifth in a local starter allowance and the race came on the cutback from a two-turn start at Delta Downs. He could be sharper here, in his second straight start at one turn. -Mary Rampellini | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
2:36 GP 4th KHOPILOT (#1, 9-2) is a DRF Best Bet (Mike Welsch). | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
2:52 AQU 4th JADE'S DREAM's (#2, 12-1) first three turf starts weren't bad after making the switch late in his 3yo year; wound up dropping early in 2021 and got a bad ride when back on turf in April, before going aggressively after failing to break sharply from the gate and gamely wiring maiden claimers; unfortunately didn't get to run again after that, but he came back with a solid effort on dirt last month in a race that was dominated up close. -Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
3:14 LRL 6th This might be a good spot for first-time starters and GLASTONBURY (#4, 15-1) should offer value for barn that is 3 for the last 6 (50%, $19.46 ROI) with newcomers on dirt. Young sire clicks with 21% of debut runners and the dam won her debut for this barn sprinting on turf. -Dan Illman | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
3:44 LRL 7th SPITBALL (#8, 5-1) stretches out after a rallying effort in a shortened sprint last month. Bumped slightly after a good start, he was outsprinted to the back of the pack while saving ground, angled four wide in the stretch and got up for third. Has the recency edge over some of these and recent score at seven furlongs gives hope that the one-turn mile is within his scope. -Dan Illman | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
4:41 GP 8th RING RUN (#6, 4-1) ran credibly debuting with much better, open maiden company and should benefit from both the start and drop to this softer competition. -Mike Welsch | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
5:04 OP 7th DECLARE THE MOON (#2, 6-1) was right there at this mile and a sixteenth trip last out and draws a useful kind of post. -Mary Rampellini | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
6:55 YR (Harness) 1st HIGH MINDED (#2, 4-1) raced in the Blue Chip Matchmaker Series on 3/18, then against males at Pocono on March 26. She was also interfered with in the latter contest. She should find this company much more reasonable. – Greg Reinhart | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
8:20 WBS (Harness) 5th MAPLE LEAF BOUND (#8, 9-2) was loaded late last week and couldn’t find a way through. He should offer a square price tonight; call to upset. – Garnet Barnsdale | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
