DRF's Horse Racing Playbook for Thursday, April 29, 2021

Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook – something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day’s action.
12:50 GP 1st TESTATRIX (#3, 10-1) is by the hot 13% debut sire Feb Biz, the sire of G1 winner Zenden and recent Keeneland stakes winner Change of Control. His unraced dam dropped seven winners, including stakes-placed router Starship Zeus ($330K) and sprinter Buckeye Heart ($198K). Sancal had a 6% strike rate with firsters during the last five years ($0.94 ROI). -Ron Gierkink | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
1:46 PIM 3rd Trainer Jamie Ness went 24 for 51 (47%, $2.60 ROI) between April 5 and April 25 and he brings MISDRIVEN (#5, 7-2) back from Parx after an even performance for their nickel. Hustled out of there to prompt the pace outside, dhe couldn’t quicken after a half-mile while three wide and in between horses and only finished in a one-paced fashion. The third-finisher from that race returned to beat $8,000 starter allowance foes at Parx with a 64 Beyer. -Dan Illman | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
2:02 BEL 3rd LULUS IN CHARGE (#7, 12-1) debuted sprinting on synthetic last month and wasn’t rushed early despite taking money; eventually moved wide coming to the stretch but she still looked green while never getting all in and still passing some horses; training forwardly for her second start and she is bred for turf, being by the underrated Midshipman and from the family of multiple graded stakes-winning turf router Air Support. -Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
2:15 GP 4th KARENVILLE (#7, 5-1) just missed after a troubled beginning when switching to the turf second-time out March 3. The daughter of Verrazano has worked thrice since and shouldn’t be out of her league against these $25K maidens under Berrios, who’s 1 for 2 at the meet for the barn. -Ron Gierkink | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
3:02 OP 3rd JACKMAN (#9, 9-2) was a sharp winner from the rail last time, when he set the pace and prevailed in a full field of 11 sprinters. He draws outside this time around, and the gate might give Torres options. -Mary Rampellini | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
3:25 PIM 6th It’s been a long and winding road for NOBLE COMMANDER (#7, 20-1), who sold for $235,000 as a 2-year-old in training and was a multiple stakes-winner for Mark Casse before being purchased for $135,000 in January of 2019. He was very game in between horses at Indiana Grand to win in his second start for those connections, and now returns as a new gelding off a whopping 679-day layoff for new ownership. Merely a stab at a price in a wide-open race, but that 58 and change breeze at Pimlico on April 8 looks interesting. -Dan Illman | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
3:58 PIM 7th MILLIE CHILD (#1, 7-2) tracked the pace inside, came through along the rail turning for home and flattened out a bit late over muddy going. Think she’s racing herself back into shape as this will be her third start of the form cycle, but she’ll need to stay a bit closer to the expected moderate pace. -Dan Illman | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
4:09 OP 5th SHESALITTLE EDGY (#3, 9-2) has been flattered since her maiden win last out at Turfway. The runner-up came back to take a maiden allowance at MVR with a Beyer Figure of 48 and the third-place finisher, a $5K maiden claimer, at TP, with a Beyer of 49. -Mary Rampellini | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
4:45 OP 6th DANA’S BEAUTY (#3, 8-1) put the blinkers back on last out and ran a credible third against similar. She is one who could be sitting on a peak race in this, her third out since October. -Mary Rampellini | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
4:49 BEL 8th KINENOS (#1, 10-1) returned from the layoff at Gulfstream in February and lost all chance when bumped to last at the start in a race that was dominated on the lead by Sayyaar; 3yo turf form was solid and he is bred to handle the distance. -Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
5:23 BEL 9th KNOCKOUT PUNCH (#6, 8-1) finally broke his maiden on the main track two starts back, but he may be even better on this surface and he switches back at the right level in a race with some speed for him to run at; had no chance behind a rated pace the last time he sprinted on grass. -Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
9:55 LS 6th CARLOS SIXES (#8, 3-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Randy Goulding). | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
10:51 LS 8th WILDCAT’S BLING (#8, 10-1) has improved dramatically as a 4-year-old for Keen and he appeared to have plenty of gas in the tank when he won his last start at Sam Houston. The water is deeper here, but have a feeling we haven’t seen his best yet His 3-year-old full-brother just won a $20K maiden claimer at Oaklawn by over 10-lengths, too. -Randy Goulding | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
