DRF's Horse Racing Playbook for Sunday, October 9, 2022

DRF Staff|Oct 08, 2022
Aqueduct scenic
Jim Sewastynowicz First post for Aqueduct racing is scheduled for 1:20 p.m. ET on Friday.

Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook – something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day’s action.

12:25 GP 1st CAYMAN QUEEN (#8, 6-1) made a little middle run, flattened out late in two turn bow now drops to significantly softer spot and should benefit from the outing. -Mike Welsch | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets

12:40 LRL 1st R TENDERONI (#3, 8-1) is a filly facing males, but she gave a good account against them two back. Pulled hard to battle outside 7-1 shot Camp Pendleton (finished third), was outpaced by the winner on the second turn, angled outside, and was game to hold second. No match last time for odds-on Tiz Herself (returned to win her fourth straight when taking an $8K starter at Delaware with a 76 Beyer). -Dan Illman | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets

1:20 GP 3rd DELTA RISING (#7, 15-1) flashed some speed against far better than he encounters at second asking. Working decently for return. Expecting big improvement. -Mike Welsch | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets

1:49 GP 4th GREAT KING (#2, 5-1) makes U S debut for dangerous barn, training well for the outing and getting Lasix for first time today. Lone career win came over the synthetic at 3 in England. -Mike Welsch | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets

2:45 KEE 4th Center Aislie is a 5yo back from a second extended layoff at age 5, and I'll try to beat her with RECODED (#6, 10-1). This mare was reclaimed on the rise this past May by current connections. She proceeded to hit career-peak form over her next three starts before a tough inside trip with a pace battle led to stark regression last time. Here, she should sit third behind the dueling leaders, and she's run well before over the KEE strip. -Marcus Hersh | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets

2:55 BAQ 5th Thought MEDIA SENSATION (#8, 8-1) ran pretty well at this level three back when encountering trouble at the start and then just getting outfinished late; stepped up to face MSW rivals when back to turf last time and could not make an impact; drops back down. -Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets

3:08 LRL 6th HELLO GRACIE (#1, 6-1), listed as a Colonial vet scratch on Sept. 5, and a Laurel vet scratch on Sept. 9, gave a good account over wet dirt two back at Penn National. Tracked outside, made a three-wide bid and finished ahead of next-out winner Shoshanah (70 Beyer in restricted allowance over synthetic at Presque Isle). Drops into a claimer for the first time since grassy win over this distance. -Dan Illman | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets

5:19 FNO 2nd A week after finishing a troubled fifth as the 3-2 favorite in a $12,500 claimer at six furlongs at Golden Gate Fields, FASCINATED (#3, 4-1) will have his third start after a two-month layoff. While Fascinated starts at a higher class level, the gelding is very quick and could be tough to handle in this small field going 5 1-2 furlongs. He has won on dirt, in a 1,000-yard allowance race at Los Al on Sept. 10. -Steve Andersen | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets

5:20 BAQ 9th TREAT STREET (#9, 10-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Mike Beer). | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets

5:28 WO 8th CLEAR DESTINATION (#8, 20-1) placed in both of his outings at this level since returning from a summer vacay. A hot Crawford picks up the mount and is 4 for 17 at the meet for Dixon. -Ron Gierkink | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets

5:30 HST 2nd I GOT VISION (#2, 6-1) has the best Beyer Speed Figure at the distance and could be sitting on a big effort in the third start of her current form cycle as she takes the drop to bottoms. She looks as good as any in a race that is hard to take a firm stand on. -Randy Goulding | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets

5:59 WO 9th GRANDSON (#4, 12-1) has progressed through the allowance ranks this year and is coming off a fast-closing third in an N1X route on the inner turf. The handsome chestnut has some speed to chase in this 7 1/2-furlong OS stakes, and should be more forwardly placed than usual with Kimura inheriting the mount from Fukumoto. -Ron Gierkink | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets

6:20 KEE 10th The Woodbine race was too short, but that's the least excusable of the last three races from CIBOLIAN (#3 15-1), who had blinkers off last time, an experiment that quickly ends, and didn't quite see out 2 miles in the BEL Gold Cup. To contend, he just needs to get back to his established baseline in 1 1/2-mile grass allowance races, and he has good form over the KEE course. -Marcus Hersh | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets

6:29 WO 10th FLIPPIN (#4, 12-1) is making his first start for trainer Kevin Attard, who has excellent stats with new shooters. The closer is returning from a layoff and has ample speed to run at under Nicholls. -Ron Gierkink | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets

6:59 WO 11th GO TAKE CHARGE (#1, 6-1) came up empty most recently on the Tapeta, but the 4yo was previously a close second to the future G3 stakes winner Ready for the Lady going 1 1/4 miles on the grass at this maiden special class. -Ron Gierkink | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
