DRF's Horse Racing Playbook for Sunday, October 18, 2020

Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook – something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day’s action.
12:40 LRL 1st DANCINGWITHPAYNTER (#8, 9-2) steps up in class, but the gray mare is in sharp form with three wins from her last five races and she should get a hot pace to attack in this spot. Won like an odds-on shot should 16 days ago at Penn National as she was taken four wide on the backstretch, looped the field turning for home and was on her way. -Dan Illman
1:20 LRL 2nd MORE TWIRL (#7, 5-1) has been knocking on the door since being dropped to the $25,000 level and thought he gave a pretty good account of himself in most recent outing. Hung out four wide all the way around the turn, he was still in with a chance turning for home and finished evenly for a minor placing. Needs slight Beyer boost, but that’s not out of the question as he is still pretty lightly-raced. -Dan Illman

1:42 GPW 4th FLORADO (#7, 7-2) looks like speed of the speed coming off the bench for new barn. Might not look back if able to get clear on turn back to six. -Mike Welsch
1:45 WO 2nd CANOLA WORLD (#1, 6-1) finished third at first asking in a key race at this class and distance Sept. 6, after which the 4yo son of Silent Name galloped out in front. -Ron Gierkink
3:11 LRL 5th MARYANORGINGER (#2, 6-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Dan Illman).
3:58 GPW 8th ASSAIL (#2, 9-2) showed way to mid-stretch before fading late going back to the turf in a race that subsequently produced trio of next out winners. Returns to the main and much softer N3L spot, owns decided pace advantage, may not look back here. -Mike Welsch

5:45 WO 9th CITY BOY (#8, 12-1) won this G2 over yielding ground after a good stalking trip at 24-1 last year. His front-running second in a five-furlong OS stakes two weeks ago should set him up nicely for what could be another square-priced score. -Ron Gierkink
6:48 WO 11th VINYASA (#6, 5-2) is a DRF Best Bet (Ron Gierkink).
