Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook – something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day’s action. 12:25 LRL 1st FORGOTTEN GIFT (#5, 20-1) ran pretty well in her turf debut. Raced midpack and in between, was steadied along the inside late on the backstretch, advanced on the rail on the turn, eased out and showed some late life. The winner of that race returned to compile a 3-1-1-1 record with a 65 Beyer top. Cooked in hot pace duels in two subsequent turf outings, and didn't take to the tighter turns at Pimlico two back (third-finisher returned to graduate for $20,000 with a 52 Beyer). Think she'll sit off the pace here. -Dan Illman  12:50 GP 1st FIELD OF BLOSSOMS (#9, 8-1) Has flashed speed in both previous starts on dirt, looked good over the Tapeta here earlier this month. Third could be the charm to get things started today. -Mike Welsch  1:00 KEE 1st DARIO (#7, 8-1) has been off since April but shows a solid, steady pattern of KEE works for the comeback. Aggressively spotted for $30K, and if he runs back to his $150K claimer over a similar distance during the fall '22 Keeneland meet, he'll be there or thereabouts. -Marcus Hersh  1:08 BAQ 2nd AIR INVASION (#3, 6-1) is a half-brother to Big Invasion, who also races for these connections and is now a seven-time stakes winner sprinting on turf after taking the Grade 2 Nearctic last week; Clement reliable with first-time starters. -Mike Beer  1:27 LRL 3rd Perhaps getting back to Laurel will help RIPKEN (#10, 6-1) find his best footing. Rallied stoutly to best "two-life" claimers over course and distance two back, then spun his wheels against a few of these at Pimlico. Outrun behind a fast pace while saving ground, he eased out into the stretch and finished evenly without threatening. With his running style, he needs pace and a trip. -Dan Illman  1:48 WO 2nd GUN COURT (#4, 15-1) has worked nicely and is debuting with blinkers and Lasix for a trainer who's overdue to get off the schneid at the meet. The son of popular 14% 2yo debut sire Souper Speedy doesn't have much quality breeding on the dam's side. -Ron Gierkink  2:04 KEE 3rd SHIP IT (#10, 8-1) is the mildest of selections in this difficult-to-parse contest. Was below form last time but might have gotten the wrong trip and has bounce-back potential at a square price, and the guess is an early-pace heavy race shapes her way. -Marcus Hersh  2:31 LRL 5th NEVER DONE (#6, 20-1) hasn't raced since being claimed 238 days ago, and now returns on grass for barn that went 4 for the last 14 (29%, $5.57 ROI) going dirt to turf (includes two winners returning from 239-day layoffs or greater). Wish there was more turf in the pedigree, but interesting bullet work on 10/7 matches barn's Whiteknuckleflyer (81 turf Beyer; entered Friday on turf). Perhaps they went in company. -Dan Illman  2:36 KEE 4th THE GATEKEEPER (#5, 8-1) been off since April 2022, but you know Wesley Ward - he bring horses back from long breaks ready to roll. This gelding, first time starting for Ward, debuted in a route and clearly lacks sprint speed, but he's aggressively spotted for $20K here. Guessing Ward, a former jockey, is trying to help Corey Lanerie get his 5,000th. -Marcus Hersh  2:54 WO 4th IT'S A FLUKE (#10, 12-1) came up empty after missing the break when ditching the blinkers in a recent N1X on the main turf. He's tagged for $40K in this NW2 sprint on the Tapeta and should make some noise with the hood back on. -Ron Gierkink  3:27 WO 5th COMPETITIVE TOUCH (#5, 12-1) set a fast pace before fading to fourth over an anti-speed track when debuting in a shorter maiden special last month, from which the runner-up exited to graduate with a 71 Beyer. Trainer Sid Attard has decent stats with maiden second-timers and when giving Contreras a leg up. -Ron Gierkink  3:40 KEE 6th Trainer I Correas nearly never wins with first-timers and STEAMPUNK (#4, 12-1), away slowly, wide, solid closing run, had a typical debut run for the barn. Second out she raced behind a wall of horses from roughly the 9/16 pole past the 1/8 pole - a better than it looks on paper performance. Could be ready for more. -Marcus Hersh  4:22 BAQ 8th TEN CENT TOWN (#4, 6-1) didn't match up well with stakes horses on turf or dirt earlier in the year but he is otherwise 3 for 3 sprinting on dirt as a 3yo, and he just earned a new Beyer top when winning at Saratoga; might need one more step forward as he makes his first start for a trainer who is underrated off the claim. -Mike Beer  4:45 FNO 1st AUTISM SHINE (#5, 5-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Steve Andersen).  4:54 BAQ 9th PINSTRIPEPIZZO (#4, 6-1) lost some early position but finished up well when making her first turf start vs. maiden-claiming rivals last time; prior form vs. better was okay and he picks up Irad for this looking for a better trip. -Mike Beer  5:00 HST 1st DIVAANY (#1, 8-1) was up by a nose in his maiden score, and 2nd two back. He seems to be headed in the right direction. -Lisa Russell  6:13 WO 10th SCOOT DADDY (#11, 10-1) toppled NW3 OS/$40K stock when claimed last time out by Drexler, who has a 27% strike rate off the halter switch. He competes for $32K in this N1X/optional claimer and is liable to run another peak race. -Ron Gierkink  7:15 FNO 6th LUVAHAPPYENDING (#3, 8-1) has won two sprints this year, which begs the question of what she was doing in a conditional $8,000 claimer at a mile at Fresno on Oct. 8. She finished fifth of six after disputing the early pace. Back in a sprint, Luvahappyending has a chance for an upset in this conditional $3,200 claimer at 5 1-2 furlongs, particularly if MARNAYS QUEEN and DANCING BONBON set a scorching pace. -Steve Andersen  7:45 FNO 7th CELESTIAL MOON (#3, 8-1) had a splashy California debut at Del Mar on Sept. 3, winning an allowance race at a mile in his first start since a third at Aqueduct in late April. Celestial Moon's stakes debut in the Grade 1 Awesome Again Stakes at Santa Anita on Sept. 30, did not go as well. He finished seventh of nine after racing near the front for the first six furlongs. Similar to the Awesome Again, the Bull Dog Stakes is run at 1 1/8 miles. This time, Celestial Moon does not have a field of Breeders' Cup hopefuls as rivals. He can be a threat from near the front for jockey Evin Roman. -Steve Andersen
