Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook – something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day’s action. 12:15 LRL 1st VAX A NATION (#8, 6-1) is a half-brother to stakes-winning dirt router Top Line Growth (97 Beyer top; won debut), juvenile stakes-placed dirt sprinter Kitchen Fire (93 turf Beyer; won debut) and stakes-placed dirt sprinter Hitch a Ride (72 Beyer) out of multiple stakes-winning dirt sprinter Orinoquia (89 Beyer). The dam is a half to stakes-placed dirt sprinter Storm Shooter (76 Beyer) and the second dam was a stakes-winning dirt sprinter. -Dan Illman | Get PPs for this race 12:20 AQU 1st RED BUTTERFLY (#2, 6-1) made her first two starts on turf with mixed results. After chasing and gamely prevailing for second on debut, she was placed under a hold to try to rate in the second start and wound up failing to make an impact in a pace-dominated race; has plenty of dirt in her pedigree for a trainer who is 3 for 6 this year with maidens switching from turf to dirt ($3.10 ROI). -Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race 1:13 LRL 3rd HOPPERNESS (#4, 5-1) should show better speed stretching out and adding blinkers, and has the pedigree and body type to appreciate this added distance. Tracked a quick pace outside while taking some slop earlier in the month, altered course down to the rail in midstretch, and got up for second late. Barn went 6 for 18 (33%, $2.49 ROI) between June 23 and Nov. 23 with "blinkers on" move. -Dan Illman | Get PPs for this race  2:11 LRL 5th BOMBOLONI (#9, 5-1) raced in and among horses for the first five-eighths of one-turn mile, dropped inside, and couldn't go with sharp One Ten (returned to win a state-sired allowance with an 87 Beyer). He's won sprinting in the past. -Dan Illman | Get PPs for this race  2:58 WO 4th SANDY BAY (#6, 10-1) has been a model of consistency throughout the meet, and the closer could mow down all the speed in this N1X with a $32K-claiming option. -Ron Gierkink | Get PPs for this race 3:14 AQU 7th BE BETTER (#1, 9-2) looked quite good winning his first two starts as a 3yo at Monmouth, those after an underrated debut in his lone start as a 2yo; totally bombed in the Curlin when stepped up at Saratoga, then tried turf to no avail in the Hill Prince; dangerous here if he can rebound back on dirt. -Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race 3:43 AQU 8th CHANGE OF CONTROL (#2, 4-1) has been one of the better female turf sprinters around over the past few years and she has put together another solid campaign in 2022, despite having just one win so far; got very unlucky in the Smart N Fancy two back and the synthetic try last time shouldn't he held against her; tough if rebounding vs. this field, though she needs a trip. -Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race 3:53 GP 8th KING CAB (#7, 7-2) a question mark on Tapeta but looks too fast for these turning back to five furlongs if getting loose as expected over the surface. -Mike Welsch | Get PPs for this race 4:23 GP 9th LEGACY ISLE (#2, 4-1) ran to his backing at first asking and looks like a good one who should handle the added ground without much issue. -Mike Welsch | Get PPs for this race  4:38 WO 7th TRADING BAY (#5, 6-1) took the long way home from post 12 over a rail-favoring track to finish a bang-up second in her second start off the bench three weeks ago. She seems poised to clear the N1X condition from a better post here under the leading bug Jones. -Ron Gierkink | Get PPs for this race 4:54 GP 10th ETERNAL FLAME (#7, 8-1) idle since 8/6 but ran well off similar hiatus this spring for twice the tag and exiting key race that produced pair of next out grads. In new hands but best good enough to beat these. -Mike Welsch | Get PPs for this race 5:40 WO 9th BET N WIN (#3, 8-1) is dropping sharply off a finish in a seven-furlong N1X/$32K tilt going seven-eighths. He's questionable over the nine-furlong distance of this $25K NW2 claimer, but has run well around two turns in the past and could get the job done. -Ron Gierkink | Get PPs for this race 5:45 GG 5th SPANNING THE GLOBE (#6, 7-2) beat one rival when fifth in a maiden special weight race at a mile on turf at Santa Anita on Nov. 4 after an eventful trip in which she broke slowly. Spanning the Globe recovered to be as close as fourth on the backstretch. This is Spanning the Globe's second start and the filly should get a decent trip if a quick pace develops. -Steve Andersen | Get PPs for this race 7:45 GG 9th The first-time starter SUGAR SHANE (#9, 6-1) is preferred following a series of solid workouts in recent weeks, and trainer Jonathan Wong's fine record with debut runners. Sire Danzing Candy wins with a strong 18 percent of his juvenile first time runners. This gelding has drawn the outside in a field of nine, which will force jockey Assael Espinoza to take a forward position to avoid too wide of a trip early. -Steve Andersen | Get PPs for this race
