DRF's Horse Racing Playbook for Sunday, March 14, 2021

Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook – something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day’s action.
1:39 GP 2nd Laughably lopsided amount of early speed in this second half of the early double should have bettors searching for something capable of rallying from off a torrid pace, and maybe CAPTURE THE GENIE (#4, 4-1) fits that bill, assuming she was just too sharp off the lengthy layoff last time; gray gal sheds the blinkers when hopefully reverting to the tactics she used in breaking her maiden here way back when. -Marty McGee | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
1:50 AQU 2nd MEETMEINCALI (#4, 8-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Mike Beer). | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
3:11 GP 5th SLIPPIN JIMMY (#10, 15-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Marty McGee). | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
3:20 AQU 5th AJAAWEED (#1, 8-1) is obviously hard to trust following a non-effort off the layoff at Gulfstream last time, and it’s not like he even did much running in his lone start at three while finishing a distant third in the Sam Davis; did show some real potential prior to those two races and willing to give him one more chance to step forward if he is let go at anything like his early odds. -Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
3:47 TAM 8th DENY (#7, 6-1) seemed well positioned to earn his diploma in that last sprint but he leapt in the air at the start and that cost him precious position; he made a middle move to get within striking distance of the leaders but flattened out and wasn’t pushed late by jockey Jose Ferrer, and he should be expected to fare much better here if able to get away with the field. -Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race
4:24 AQU 7th DANEBURY (#8, 8-1) has a lot of seconds and thirds on his card but he also has speed and is stretching back out for this after sprinting off the layoff (with a bar show on) and racing on evenly after a bump at the start; contends with his best effort in a wide-open race, though he was listed as a vet scratch last month. -Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race
4:38 OP 6th WAR DETONATOR (#8, 6-1) exits a quick race against steeper. He was favored in what was his first start against winners and first out since November. -Mary Rampellini | Get PPs for this race
5:16 GP 9th Out of a 3-turn marathon, CAIRA (#2, 8-1) surely will be using different tactics when trying to sneak up on OSAKA GIRL and the rest on this turn-back to a mile; 5yo mare been showing signs of life and seems a prime candidate to get her HOF conditioner off the championship-meet duck. -Marty McGee | Get PPs for this race
5:40 OP 8th W W FITZY (#7, 6-1) is appealing as a seven-time winner facing some less-experienced foes. She also has a chance to control the pace. WW FITZY ran a big race off the bench in her most recent start and for the effort earned what ranks as this field’s best lastrace Beyer Figure. The out was her first at Oaklawn. -Marty McGee | Get PPs for this race
5:48 GP 10th THE ZIP FACTOR (#8, 6-1) won’t be 23-1 this time after looming boldly in his last start vs. some of these same $25k mdn.-claimers in the Feb. 5 common race; like the progression this gray guy has made over the winter for Cibelli, who tends to excel with grass types such as him; stands as good a chance as any to send you home a winner. -Mary Rampellini | Get PPs for this race
6:18 SA 6th SADIE BLUEGRASS (#4, 4-1) gets the call to upset this turf sprint stakes for Cal-bred fillies and mares. The 7-for-11 filly has speed to set or press the pace, her recent form in N2X allowance races is solid (one win, one second), and she ran well over this turf course two months ago. Come and catch her. -Brad Free | Get PPs for this race
