Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook – something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day’s action.
1:49 MTH 3rd SWEET SUMMER LOVE (#1, 8-1) rallied with interest to just get up for the place over the 2nd choice in the betting, and while she was no threat to the winning favorite she may have been moving best of them all in that turf sprint at Delaware Park last time out; that was despite some slow early fractions, and she stands to improve today at this longer distance and given a quick, contested pace to chase. -Kenny Peck | Bet this race with DRF Bets
2:54 WO 4th FOUR ACES HIGH (#3, 6-1) won a main turf sprint last June with a 79 Beyer under current pilot Flores. He regressed off his big comeback performance, a second at this price, most recently when a sagging seventh vs. tougher and could rebound with the class drop and surface change. -Ron Gierkink | Bet this race with DRF Bets
3:39 BAQ 6th B D SAINTS (#10, 6-1) might have been prepping off the layoff last time while rating back from the start and then getting tired in the stretch, and he was up against it over that speed-favoring track, anyway; has run well on dirt, but he might be best on this surface, and he can be more forwardly placed in the pace doesn't go; expecting better second off the layoff. -Mike Beer | Bet this race with DRF Bets
3:40 CBY 4th LIGHTNING LIZ (#4, 4-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Scott Ehlers). | Bet this race with DRF Bets
4:00 GP 7th JURASSIC CHICK (#8, 6-1) didn't get much play in her debut when sent off at 27-1 but still showed speed and was right there with a furlong to go before tiring. Now she drops in class with a recent work in tow which hints at the money run. -Scott Ehlers | Bet this race with DRF Bets
4:11 BAQ 7th GOD LAUGHS (#1, 30-1) only sprinted as a 2yo, including the turf start in November when chasing in. a field that has since turned out to be pretty good; the dam was a very good dirt horse with stakes wins both sprinting and routing, and among her six winning foals to date are five turf winners; Handal 2 for 10 ($2.38 ROI), with two others finishing second, in turf routes after a layoff of 180-days or longer, all at prices. -Mike Beer | Bet this race with DRF Bets
4:36 WO 7th SPEEDY HANS (#8, 8-1) took the overland route to victory last time in a $25K seller that was marred by a spill. The closer has lots of speed to chase in this N1X/$32K contest and could double up with leading rider Hernandez back aboard. -Ron Gierkink | Bet this race with DRF Bets
4:53 MTH 9th ALPINE THUNDER (#3, 6-1) was well off the board when last seen but he was caught too close to the pace in that sprint, which set up well for the closers; he's much better when he's allowed to take back off the leaders and make one run, and if that scenario develops today he should fall into a nice trip, as the splits promise to be on the quick side given the presence of several speed-types. -Kenny Peck | Bet this race with DRF Bets
5:08 WO 8th HUNT MASTER (#6, 7-2) was scratched from Saturday's G2 Highlander for this second-level allowance/optional claimer and should be a factor if sufficiently cranked up for his first start since November. The steady 5yo has been working fast and should be an enticing price under the capable Alderson. -Ron Gierkink | Bet this race with DRF Bets
5:13 BAQ 9th ASK ISAAC (#9, 8-1) debuted in a slow-paced race on turf at Saratoga and got headstrong and rank while being taken back early; was widest to the stretch and finishing gamely but still looked green while swapping leaders several times in the stretch; never had a real chance in against General Partner on dirt in his only other start; back to turf for the 3yo debut with Lasix on. -Mike Beer | Bet this race with DRF Bets
5:40 CBY 8th MIGHTY GIN GIN (#3, 7-2) ran evenly off the layoff and is all set to improve. She is simply bred to love a turf sprint with turf and distance Tomlinsons of 355 and 362. Trainer stats are solid and this filly draws fine. MIA BABY was sent off as the favorite in her most recent and ran second at even money. She has never missed the board on this sod. She draws outside again and gets a similar race flow as her most recent. -Scott Ehlers | Bet this race with DRF Bets
