DRF's Horse Racing Playbook for Sunday, June 20, 2021

DRF Staff|Jun 19, 2021
Mischevious Dream wins the 2020 Sorority Stakes at Monmouth Park
Ryan Denver/Equi-Photo Mischevious Dream overcame traffic trouble to win the Sorority Stakes in her last start.

Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook – something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day’s action.

12:15 MTH 1st CATSOUTOFTHEBAG (#4, 5-2) is a DRF Best Bet (Kenny Peck). | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets

12:42 MTH 2nd SLOE GIN BIZ (#2, 5-1) is out of a dam who was best on the turf but he is kin to two starters, both winners, and the five wins they posted between them all came in dirt sprints; hails from a barn which excels with firsters. -Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets

1:22 GP 2nd BERHANU (#4, 10-1) and KIGER (#3, 9-2) have both been working extremely well for this outing. Former the more experienced of pair and one of only two multiple winners in the lineup along with logical favorite HERCULES. -Mike Welsch | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets

1:31 BEL 2nd FUTURE VICTORY (#3, 9-2) disappointed last time when catching a fast pace to run at but thought he ran well two back when losing early position and then trying to rally through some traffic, and he showed better tactical speed when easily breaking his maiden with a good finish prior to that; rebound chance at a better price. -Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets

2:20 WO 3rd CONCEALED CARRY (#9, 4-1) wintered in South Carolina before working quickly here on the Tapeta for a trainer with impressive stats with first-timers. The Ky-bred is by a 17% 2yo debut sire, and his dam produced two juvenile winners. -Ron Gierkink | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets

2:50 WO 4th First-time starter MISTER M V P (#4, 12-1) is bred for the grass, top and bottom, and has posted some decent works on the Tapeta for a capable conditioner. -Ron Gierkink | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets

3:02 BEL 5th HERALD ANGEL (#5, 8-1) saved ground off the bench and wound up losing position in the stretch when the eventual winner got the jump on her; showed some potential last year and has more speed than she brought with her off the layoff last time. -Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets

3:25 WO 5th NIKOLAOU (#2, 8-1) is by the red-hot speed sire Maclean’s Music, who’s gotten 18% debut winners. The half-brother to stakes-winning sprinter/miler Hemp Hemp Hurray worked an above-average half from the gate the other day. -Ron Gierkink | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets

3:26 GP 6th ALIZEE (#8, 7-2) looks tough here turf or dirt. Got the lead, flattened late trying a mile and one sixteenth returning to sod off a long absence from that surface. Repeat effort should be good enough for this price. -Mike Welsch | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets

4:03 LS 2nd COLD HEARTED WENCH (#6, 9-2) ran a credible third last out, but might be betterserved if her race remains on the grass this time around as both of her wins have come on the green. -Mary Rampellini | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets

4:06 BEL 7th BAY JEWEL (#7, 10-1) stepped back up to this level and just missed in a race that was rained off the grass last month, making it three straight improved efforts since returned from the short layoff; showed some early potential, which she seems to finally be living up to, and she looked good winning each of her last two starts sprinting on turf. -Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets

4:11 LAD 2nd FAR BEYOND (#5, 7-2) was buried on the rail in his debut and of course he broke dead last. Race experience was earned so that is what really matters. This is dam’s first foal so no hep there. We like that he has worked at least twice since his debut. -Scott Ehlers | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets

4:29 GP 8th DRAPES (#5, 9-2) a lightly raced but very promising sort who beat a decent one in Una Luna to make it two straight off the layoff. Another forward move might make her good enough to keep that streak alive here. -Mike Welsch | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets

4:37 LAD 3rd MISS PRONOUNCE (#3, 12-1) tried tougher in her debut at Oaklawn and then broke 10th of 12 all while catching a muddy track. Another off track for her local debut previously. Local works are fine while new barn is 21% when returning horses between 31-60 days. -Scott Ehlers | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets

5:02 MTH 11th MYHARTBLONGSTODADY (#11, 15-1) is wide here but she could prove to be the controlling speed, no small consideration given the projected race flow in this Grade 3 Eatontown, which lacks a clear-cut pace scenario; she has back figures which are plenty good enough to win this and she stands to run back to those Beyers if she’s able to set her own pace and back down the fractions. -Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets

5:30 MTH 12th SIP’N DIP (#3, 9-2) was a remote 2nd in the first dirt route try of her career but the winner was much the best on paper and proved it on the racetrack, and this filly was clear of the rest; meets no such rival in this nightcap, and she should be able to use her early speed to her best advantage. -Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets

5:55 LAD 6th HALEYS SAILOR (#5, 5-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Scott Ehlers). | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets

6:30 WO 11th TORONTOTORO (#7, 4-1) has been working up a storm for trainer Roger Attfield. The 4yo American Pharoah colt might prefer more ground than the six-furlong distance of this maiden special, but he could be along in time under Wilson. -Ron Gierkink | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
