With most other North American sports being shut down due to the coronavirus pandemic, we hope the sport of horse racing can entertain you during these trying times. Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook – something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day’s action.
12:30 GP 2nd A couple of young fillies who flashed foot at first asking will lock horns here, with MISSING LINK (#2, 3-1) perhaps rating the edge out of her late-April debut. -Marty McGee
1:50 BEL 2nd MISS JAK (#10, 6-1) has been defeated at short prices in her two most recent starts but she was facing better in those races and didn’t run poorly either time; liked that win at Aqueduct three starts back and expecting her to run well here as she drops in class, though this isn’t your typical $16k claimer with 73 total wins among her nine rivals. -Mike Beer
2:31 WO 4th ITSKATHIESLUCKYDAY (#11, 10-1) stalked three-wide over an inside-biased track en route to a two-length loss when moving out to a route at second asking Nov. 2. She wintered in South Carolina with trainer Mike Keogh, who sent out a longshot winner on opening weekend. -Ron Gierkink

2:42 GP 6th NO GETTING OVER ME (#2, 5-2) is a DRF Best Bet (Marty McGee).
3:05 WO 5th FOREST SURVIVOR (#9, 5-1), by the good speed/debut sire Old Forester, is the first foal from a versatile winner of $169K who notched her debut at 2. He was in Ocala before a series of local works on the Tapeta. -Ron Gierkink
3:14 GP 7th Not too crazy about the 1-for-15 mark, and yet FELON (#10, 6-1) has been getting criminally close to the winner’s circle again, at least when his races stay on the grass; can be a big part of the big picture once again. -Marty McGee
4:00 SA 1st An interesting program begins with a N2X turf mile in which DUPIONI (#2, 4-1) moves up in class following an impressive N1X win. She was shuffled slightly at the three-eighths, recovered, unleashed her rally on the far turn, angled outside in the lane and blasted home with an impressive turn of late speed. Sharp. The lightly raced (nine starts) Irishbred has come around nicely in the U.S. and can handle the class hike. -Brad Free
4:32 BEL 7th SCUTTLEBUZZ (#10, 3-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Mike Beer).

4:50 GP 10th Distance not much of a matter for FRENCH QUARTER (#7, 3-1), whose romp going a mile for this same $6,250 tag in his latest portends something similar on this turnback to six and a half panels; starts here for yet another new barn, but the silks haven’t really much mattered as he’s won 6 of his last 10. -Marty McGee
5:04 BEL 8th REGAL RETORT (#2, 6-1) has shown up every time so far - at least when keeping her rider - and not so sure that catching four straight sloppy tracks along the way helped her, though she did win one of those races; dominated weaker with a good trip when back on fast dirt when last seen; has a long layoff to overcome here but appears to be training well and has upside. -Mike Beer
5:14 WO 9th MALIBU MAMBO (#4, 9-2), the Queen’s Plate Winterbook favorite, rallied wide over an inside-biased track to just miss in the Coronation Futurity. He can fire when fresh, and could mow down all the speed in his first start with Lasix and Contreras. -Ron Gierkink
5:36 BEL 9th CAPTAIN BOMBASTIC (#6, 5-2) looked good winning his first two vs. NY-breds, including the Sleepy Hollow with a 77 Beyer, then caught a sloppy track and didn’t have the best trip in that rich Stallion Series race behind Dream Bigger; wintered at Oaklawn going longer and came away second-best to a pair of quality runners, including Pneumatic who most recently finished 3rd in the Matt Winn with a 94 Beyer, cuts back. -Mike Beer

6:03 SA 5th VETERAN (#5, 5-1) returns from a layoff as possibly the one to catch in this maiden turf sprint. He showed speed before fading in his career debut last summer on dirt; his comeback workouts suggest he is sharp and ready. Turf should be fine. Sired by Quality Road, his dam’s two wins were on turf. -Brad Free
8:12 SA 9th Taking a shot at a price in this mile-and-a-quarter turf stakes. PRETTY POINT (#6, 4-1) is the least accomplished entrant, just one career win vs. maidens. However, she finished well last out in a mile race won by the pacesetter, and stretches out to the distance of her career-best effort. That was a third in the G1 American Oaks on “good.” If she can reproduce that effort on “firm,” she can score an upset against rivals that are mostly unproven at this distance. -Brad Free
8:12 SA 9th PRETTY POINT (#6, 4-1) ran on well here May 15 in a race she surely needed after a few months off at a trip well short of her best. Can benefit from that run and the move to this longer trip which she’s handled well before. – Michael Hammersly
