?q=100)
Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook; something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day's action.
12:50 GP 1st TEJOTA (#10, 20-1) broke dead last in his debut but still managed to find the front end before eventually tiring. All in all, a solid debut. This is dam's first foal so no help there. This guy draws much better and goes for a barn that is 17% with their maiden claimers. -Scott Ehlers | Get PPs for this race
1:19 GP 2nd SECRET SOLDIER (#3, 12-1) broke in a tangle in his debut all while getting little tote support when sent off at 40-1. His second start was better as he showed speed to the half mile and then called it a day. Now he tries yet another surface with the move to dirt but better yet lures Vasquez and drops a notch in class. -Scott Ehlers | Get PPs for this race
1:29 LRL 3rd STORM RATE (#3, 8-1) prompted a three-ply pace from the rail in circuit debut, was outpaced a bit on the turn, then re-rallied along the inside for place honors. His lone victory came with blinkers, and he'll get them again in second start following a short break. Barn went 5 for the last 13 (38%, $3.68 ROI) with dirt performers adding blinkers. OUR LIBERTY BELLE might have found a home on this circuit after taking advantage of a fast pace and a closer-friendly track to graduate last month. That was her dirt debut, and she might ready to really turn the corner. -Dan Illman | Get PPs for this race
1:36 BEL 2nd LIVING MAGIC (#5, 5-1) wasn't fastest from the gate in her Parx debut, but she made a three-wide run around the turn and then easily overpowered the leader in the stretch despite still looking green; liked that effort and she can do better with that experience behind her. -Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race
1:43 WO 2nd SACRED DANCER (#2, 8-1) had a wide trip over an inside-preferred track when fourth while moving up to this NW3 level in her second start off the bench on the Tapeta. She can handle the grass and could be peaking in this main turf sprint under Anderson, who was up for her season debut tally. -Ron Gierkink | Get PPs for this race
2:07 CBY 1st BLACK LIMO (#2, 6-1) sure doesn't have to beat much in here. We like that he has at least two local works. Either of those tries 3 and 4 back fit here. This gelding has some tactial speed to help his trip and only faces four foes. -Scott Ehlers | Get PPs for this race
2:16 WO 3rd CHIPOTLE PEPPER (#4, 8-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Ron Gierkink). | Get PPs for this race |
2:19 GP 4th ENGLISH BOB (#6, 8-1) is just better of late. He seems comfortable just off the pace and that fits here. He is classy enough, gets a good jock, and has won at this distance. -Scott Ehlers | Get PPs for this race
2:38 BEL 4th SUNDAESWITHSANDY (#3, 8-1) owns dangerous speed and is capable of an effort that would make him tough in here if able to get early control, which seems possible; turf to dirt second off the claim for Nevin. -Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race
3:05 LAD 1st SHADY GRADY (#2, 8-1) puts races back to back something he hasn't done since September and with good health comes better results. His return try was poor but it was going seven furlongs all while sent off at 22-1. This barn is 1 for 1 second off a long layoff. This gelding has some speed and could find the front end at a big price. He did break his maiden second off a layoff. -Scott Ehlers | Get PPs for this race
3:10 MTH 6th CAMPTOWN RACES (#1, 10-1) has been going longer but he's actually won at this particular distance, in his maiden score, and he should be very well set up today with several one-dimensional speeds lined up to his outside; he ran very well for the show in his latest, when he broke poorly and basically lost all chance. -Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race
3:33 LRL 7thThe 105-day layoff coming into this race is somewhat concerning, but LEFT HAND THREAD (#8, 6-1) sure looked good graduating in his second lifetime start. Broke a beat slow, tracked the leaders three wide, swept to the front without much fuss on the turn, and was on his way. This is a big class hike (of the five runners from his maiden win, none hit the board next-out with a 54 Beyer top) so demand wagering value. -Dan Illman | Get PPs for this race
3:52 CBY 4th FUTURE PERFECT (#2, 8-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Scott Ehlers). | Get PPs for this race
4:10 MTH 8th AMATTEROFTIME (#1, 5-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Kenny Peck). | Get PPs for this race
4:12 BEL 7th YELLOW SUN DRESS (#3, 8-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Mike Beer). | Get PPs for this race
4:25 WO 7th DOWNY BOY (#10, 12-1) was knocking on the door in turf sprints at this N1X level last summer before tailing off in the fall. He came wide from fourth to win his $25K season debut comfortably on the Tapeta, and seems ready to take another crack at the N1X condition. -Ron Gierkink | Get PPs for this race
4:40 MTH 9th TRAINER PLEASE (#6, 8-1) has only one win in 10 career starts on the turf but he rarely runs a bad race, and his best figures give him credibility in this sprint; should offer some value as well. -Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race
5:10 MTH 10th MR. PENNY PINCHER (#7, 15-1) was off slowly in his debut and that cost him. as that race was controlled by the frontrunners (the 3.5 favorite set the pace on a loose lead and wired the field and led a two-speed exacta) and the race came up fast; has every right to improve here for trainer Pat McBurney, who does well with second-time starters. -Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race
5:23 GG 3rd SECRET CLUB (#4, 6-1) was second in two allowance races at 1 1-4 miles on the synthetic track earlier this year, closing from off the pace to gain his best position late. A three-time winner on turf, Secret Club will race at 1 3-8 miles for the first time, but shows the sort of form that can be effective at a longer trip. He will be helped if Bandera Azteca set a good pace. -Steve Andersen | Get PPs for this race
5:25 LAD 6th CRIMSON STORM (#6 15-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Scott Ehlers). | Get PPs for this race
5:27 GP 10th SOUPER LEGACY (#4, 6-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Scott Ehlers). | Get PPs for this race
5:50 BEL 10th ALLAMERICANBEAUTY (#1, 8-1) hasn't earned a big figure yet but she has run well in all three turf starts since switching over and just scored over this distance at Keeneland despite having some trouble getting a clean run; benefitted by moving inside when this race was redrawn but should still be a fair price and might be a lot better than she looks. -Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race
6:07 CBY 8th BARBARA ROHLOFF (#7, 8-1) has improved her Beyer speed figure in three straight. She tried two turns and the turf both for the first time in her return try and ran a better than it looks 6th. She should be plenty fit and now cuts back to a dirt sprint. She draws best and has speed all at what might be a decent price if near 8-1 morning line. -Scott Ehlers | Get PPs for this race
6:21 LAD 8th SHESTHEBIGGAME (#5, 8-1) broke last in her most recent and it was her turf debut. She still beat over half the field home. We like that connections want the turf right back. This filly is bred to like the green and goes for a barn that shows a flat bet profit on the grass. -Scott Ehlers | Get PPs for this race
6:29 GG 5th RACKATAPTAP (#11, 6-1) won a $20,000 claimer for maidens at a mile on turf in his ninth career start on April 14, and followed with a last-place finish in a starter allowance at a mile on turf on April 29. This is an easier field than his last race. Rackataptap has a wide draw, but leading rider Assael Espinoza keeps the mount for the third consecutive race and knows how to win on the 5-year-old. -Steve Andersen | Get PPs for this race
6:30 WO 11th WORRY LESS (#5, 8-1) fought for the lead before fading seventh in a somewhat disappointing performance in her second start back on the Tapeta. The daughter of 12% grass sire Creative Cause is a half-sister to two turf winners and could be a speed threat with the rail in the outermost lane 5. -Ron Gierkink | Get PPs for this race
7:29 GG 7th SADIE BLUEGRASS (#8, 5-1) could have a dream trip in her first start since last summer. A winner of 13 of 23 starts, Sadie Bluegrass is likely to race as a stalker in pursuit of CHANCERY WAY and SASSY NATURE who are capable of leading throughout. Sadie Bluegrass won two five-furlong turf races at Golden Gate Fields last year, including the Camilla Urso Stakes, by racing from off the pace. -Steve Andersen | Get PPs for this race
