DRF's Horse Racing Playbook for Sunday, July 3, 2022

Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook – something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day’s action.
10 WO 1st ASHA IRONBORN (#3, 8-1) showed signs of life most recently when a front-running second in a one-mile inner turf route at this level. Note that she finished second in her last main turf excursion. – Ron Gierkink | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
32 BEL 2nd BELLESHAZZA (#3, 12-1) has finished behind likely favorite QUARIA THUNDER in each of her last two starts while trying out different running styles each time; tried to show speed two back before proving to be no match, and she was wrapped up in the stretch exaggerating the margin of defeat; was very conservatively ridden last time and wound up with way too much to do in the stretch; has plenty to find, butt can improve here with Rosario sticking. – Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
11 MTH 5th GOLDEN ROCKET (#5, 4-1) is a new turf horse that just ran 2nd when first on this lawn. We bet we are looking at a more mature animal now. New barn is 11% off the claim and 12% on the turf (flat bet profit). This filly has a recent work and gets a decent pace to chase. – Scott Ehlers | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
11 GP 6th WICKED TEMPTATIONS (#4, 5-1) looked super blasting $6,250B rivals here last time out May 7. Yes, that came going a mile and he shortens up here but he’s proven effective sprinting and the way he won May 7 hints he’s taken his game up a notch. – Michael Hammersly | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
12 BEL 9th BEACH BOY AL (#7, 6-1) ran well on debut back in January while part of a contested pace from the start in a race that ultimately went to closers; stretched out for his next start and weakened in the final furlong, and he did a lot of chasing on the cut back last time while after a couple of talented rivals; better than he looks and eligible to improve as he starts back with a trainer change. – Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
20 GP 10th OUR TEN ANGELS (#6, 9-2) is a DRF Best Bet (Michael Hammersly). | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
58 LRC 5th A slow start against better company compromised ROSES N GOLD (#7, 4-1) in her debut; she finished next to last. Now, she drops from MSW to maiden-30, moves to an outside post, and meets an apparently soft bunch of 3yo fillies. – Brad Free | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
58 LRC 7th This 2yo maiden sprint is a split of race 4, another Miller-trained debut runner gets the call. MISTER ICEMAN (#6, 4-1) appears to have worked well at SLR, first-crop sire Girvin is off to a promising start with three debut winners from seven starts. ‘ICEMAN worked 10-flat at the OBS April sale and was purchased for more than 13 times the amount of his stallion’s fee ($80K purchase, $6K stud fee). With top rider Hernandez aboard, it looks like a “go”. – Brad Free | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
