Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook – something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day’s action. 12:17 TAM 1st SUNSET EMPIRE (#4, 5-1) was off the board in her latest but that was no easy trip, as she was caught up in a race-long duel in a sprint that featured a fair amount of speed, and ultimately set up for the closers; can steal this if able to shake loose without much pressure. -Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race 12:47 TAM 2nd DANNYHILL (#4, 5-1) makes her first start for a tag and comes back from the layoff with Lasix added, and the sharp works she’s shown indicate she’ll return running for trainer Carlos Munoz; showed speed in her most recent and could be the one to catch in this short field. -Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race 1:08 GP 2nd Corey Lanerie loves him some fence, and surely he’ll be looking to save all the ground aboard SANDY DUDE (#2, 6-1) while a few of these others go to war up top; smooth early rhythm the key in getting this ‘Dude to revert to his encouraging debut. -Marty McGee | Get PPs for this race 2:13 TAM 5th PURPLE SCOOTER (#6, 5-2) is the new face in this field, shipping in from Woodbine for her first start since November while most of these are exiting the same local race, which didn’t come up especially fast; has speed but can also rate, which bodes well for his chances of working out a trip. -Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race 2:20 AQU 3rd PATTY O’MARC (#2, 4-1) debuting over a tough distance but doing so vs. a nondescript field with some pedigree, and his trainer, while often using a first start as a learning experience, has strong numbers with horses like this - first-time starter, dirt, one mile, maiden claiming, AQU: 5 for her last 13, 38%, $3.08 ROI; sire Giant Surprise connects with 15% of his first-time starters and this colt is a full-brother to multiple stakes winning dirt router Super Surprise. -Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race 2:43 TAM 6th TONY SMALL (#4, 10-1) usually sprints but he has won going a mile, albeit at one turn at Gulfstream; he comes off a pair of sprints that were faster than par for the class and distance and he makes his first start off the claim for trainer Dennis Ward, who has strong stats with same. -Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race 2:50 AQU 4th VITESSE (#2, 6-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Mike Beer). | Get PPs for this race 3:10 GP 6th The 8yo gelding TWENTY FOUR SEVEN (#7, 9-2) was edged in a photo in this same kind of ‘beaten’ $16k route last month when earning yet another solid BSF; very eligible to be a popular start to the Rainbow 6 (races 6-11) by getting through this condition given typical T-Gaff handling. -Marty McGee | Get PPs for this race  4:20 AQU 7th TIERGAN (#1A, 6-1) won his career debut sprinting way back in 2018 and is still stuck at one career victory, but he has run well at times since then, including that turf route three back where he didn’t get a great trip; good effort back on dirt last time when rallying behind an in-form horse and not goes off the claim for Rudy. -Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race  6:46 SA 7th RONALD R (#10, 6-1) has not started since February 2020, but he fired off a similar layoff in 2019. Arguably the “best horse” in the field, he returns for a $40k claim tag with regular rider Drayden Van Dyke. Tough to bet with confidence a horse that has not started in a year, but the come-from-behind gelding returns with a work pattern that suggests he is ready to fire. -Brad Free | Get PPs for this race
