Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook – something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day’s action. 11:50 AQU 1st E STORMY (#5, 5-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Mike Beer).  12:20 AQU 2nd JACKSON'S DIXIE (#5, 4-1) faced a difficult distance cutback last time and handled it well while second best to Miss Stones, who returned to win again and is owned by Valente, who apparently purchased this filly privately after the race; tactical 4yo arrives in form for the first start for Rice and she can handle the distance. -Mike Beer  12:25 LRL 1st Demand value on GLASS OF COURAGE (#7, 8-1) as he's lost at 5-2 or less in all five starts, but he exits another useful effort nine days ago. Saved ground in midpack behind a slow pace, advanced on the rail on the second turn, altered course three wide, then got up for second despite drifting. Worth noting he gave 14 pounds to the winner. Might get a better race flow here. -Dan Illman  12:35 TAM 1st There's a fair amount of speed in this opener and that should work to the advantage of NOTACATBUTACARD (#3, 6-1), who has been running against better and holding his own well enough; return to six furlongs adds to the appeal, as this may be his best distance. -Kenny Peck  12:40 GP 2nd SANDS OF WAR (#8, 8-1) popped and stopped in her debut but she got needed race experience and that is what counts the most. We have seen some nice turf runners from this barn and they are 29% off a long layoff and with a flat bet profit. This is dam's first foal so no help there. This 3YO that cost over half a million is simply bred to love a turf route with grass and distance Tomlinsons of 377/380. -Scott Ehlers  1:36 TAM 3rd COOL MEMORY (#5, 6-1) was a beaten favorite in his local debut but he was off the pace in that sprint, and that was a day when speeds seemed to hold the edge; today's addition of blinkers may well mean he's more involved from the start. -Kenny Peck 1:38 GP 4th COLLECTED DREAMS (#3, 15-1) was thought enough of to ship here after debuting at Louisiana Downs (a very good dirt there). She was right there with a furlong to go in both local starts yet did so at 71-1 and 38-1. Her last race is what we like best as she shipped to Tampa and tried the turf for the first time and beat half the field home this time at almost 37-1. Did we mention that she tried the boys? She returns to her own sex today and we bet she isn't done improving. -Scott Ehlers 2:20 AQU 6th MUSIC MELODY (#6, 9-2) is a well-connected firster by Mendelssohn (11% with first-time starters) and out of a dam who never panned out despite going off favored in six of her eight career starts (and never going off above 2/1 odds), though she did win twice sprinting on dirt; Cox 8 for his last 29 (29%) with first-time starters sprinting on dirt in NY ($2.78 ROI). -Mike Beer 2:24 LRL 5th RAPPER ZAPPER (#1, 8-1) was competitive against maidens over this course and distance back in 2022, and he appeared to find himself over Woodbine's Tapeta last year. Gets major class relief in this strict "non-three" claimer after being thrown to the wolves in the Grade 3 Valedictory, a race taken by eight-time winner Conglomerate. Barn has had success moving synthetic to dirt, and they went 3 for the last 15 (20%, $4.75 ROI) with horses returning from layoffs of at least two months. -Dan Illman 3:07 GP 7th FROSTED VICTORY (#5, 12-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Scott Ehlers).  3:22 AQU 8th CARAGATE (#3, 20-1) sprinted a couple of times off the long layoff to shake the rust off, then got wired when stretched out to a mile last time; needs to get back to her best form in this spot, but she is better going longer and is a strong fit here with her good race. -Mike Beer  3:37 GP 8th DANGEROUS RIDE (#2, 8-1) has improved his Beyer in five straight and goes third off the layoff. He caught an off track in his most recent yet still ran a Beyer top. Race flow is fine if all stay in. This gelding draws inside but isn't stuck on the rail. This gelding often breaks well and figures a good price today. -Scott Ehlers 3:45 GG 3rd In an intriguing allowance race at 5 1-2 furlongs, PROOF HE RIDES (#2, 6-1) can win his second consecutive race with a stalking trip. HIGHLAND GHOST and Evenerevenworse are likely to contribute to a hot pace, with Proof He Rides more than likely to be well-placed behind them turning into the stretch. The style worked for Proof He Rides on Jan. 5, trainer Alberto Ruvalcaba's only win at the current meeting through Thursday. -Steve Andersen  3:50 TAM 7th CALLAS (#6, 6-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Kenny Peck).  4:45 GG 5th EDDIE CROSSWIRE (#3, 10-1) was unlucky not to finish third in a conditional $3,200 claimer on Jan. 21 and has an excellent chance for a better performance in this race at the same level. On Jan. 21, Eddie Crosswire altered course twice in the stretch when in traffic and still closed steadily to be nearest the front at the finish, missing third by a half-length. The race was run at a good pace and this one should be, too. -Steve Andersen  4:50 LRL 10th LUCKY LORRAINE (#5, 6-1) had to steady on the backstretch to avoid a spill, split horses on the turn, altered course to the far outside, then stayed on for fourth money. Perhaps she'll be a bit sharper from the gate with new blinkers. Rojas lands here instead of Calypso Ghost. -Dan Illman  5:45 GG 7th YOU KIDDING ME (#2, 6-1) should be well-placed as a stalker. He has an excellent chance to record his second consecutive win and fourth victory in his last five starts. You Kidding Me has won at claiming values ranging from $4,000 to $5,000 since mid-November, and was taken for $5,000 by current trainer Luciano Gabriel on Jan. 19, the day of the gelding's most recent win. You Kidding Me closed from fifth in the final furlong to win by a length as the favorite. -Steve Andersen
