DRF's Horse Racing Playbook for Sunday, December 20, 2020

Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook – something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day’s action.
12:20 AQU 2nd SECRET LOVE (#4, 4-1) lands in a tough N1x following her maiden win while facing four fillies dropping out of stakes races; didn’t take much money first time out despite being by a hot new sire and breezing the bullet at Ocala, but she ran well that day to win easily without making the lead. – Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
2:05 GP 5thYes, those were state-bred mdn. - claimers that MY LIPS ARE SEALED (#8, 8-1) crushed last month for the Team Block partnership, and this is a salty starter-allowance onto which the NY-bred 3YO now dips her toe, but further improvement over the 2nd start should put her in the thick of this; clean trip from the outer with Saez taking over would be no bad shake. – Marty McGee | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
2:15 AQU 6th DESPEIGHT ALL ODDS (#4, 10-1) debuted over this track last month and hesitated at the break to wind up outrun early behind an impressive, front-running winner (75 Beyer for Harper’s in Charge); actually put in a run from the back around the turn before prevailing for 4th in an underrated effort and can put that experience to use in her second start. – Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
2:38 GP 6th SHINING THROUGH (#8, 7-2) is a DRF Best Bet (Marty McGee). | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
2:49 TB 5th SUSPECT A STORM (#9, 4-1) just ran OK off the layoff and should improve second time this start. Hard trying gelding draws fine and keeps Camacho. We like the full furlong cut back as this horse has won three times when doing so. – Scott Ehlers | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
3:58 LRC 3rd Plenty of uncertainty regarding COCOA CENTS (#10, 6-1), but maybe she is worth a shot in a puzzling maiden-20. She worked well into her debut two starts back, but maiden-50 was too tough. Last out in maiden-40, she stumbled at the break, was unable to establish position, and misfired. She might be a bust, but she wheels back in eight days, drops to rock bottom, landed an outside post and has worked better than she ran in either start. One more chance? – Brad Free | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
4:13 AQU 10th TRUEBELIEVE (#2, 12-1) has only run on dirt once, that in the Prince of Wales going long where he was part of a competitive pace, and he was faced with a difficult situation last time while cut all the way back to five furlongs; has been most effective sprinting, and he is probably at the right level for his NY debut- though this is a pretty tough $25k claimer. – Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
4:20 TB 8th BRASSY (#10, 8-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Scott Ehlers). | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
4:40 GP 10thRomping maiden score over at Gulf West by EL SOLITARIO (#10, 15-1) earned him “the unluckiest cut,” and, now, he’s reasonably spotted in this N2L-$20K turf finale as one of a handful with the recency to get through the condition; edge from this corner in a typical GP head-scratcher. – Marty McGee | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
