12:25 TAM 1st MASTERIO (#5, 6-1) didn’t break well in either of his first two tries, including his latest, when he clipped heels after he was squeezed by rivals on both sides; has turned in three works in the interim, now making his first start for trainer Derek Ryan, and he could prove a threat today if he’s able to break with the field, as he did post decent Beyers despite those slow starts in his first two. -Kenny Peck
12:52 TAM 2nd JOHNNY U (#8, 12-1) was behind three of these same rivals in his latest but that was no easy trip, as he was caught up in a race-long duel from the start and weakened only in the late stages, with the aforementioned trio all benefitting from the race flow; may well be able to shake loose today despite cutting back in distance, which he seems to prefer anyway. -Kenny Peck

1:31 GP 2nd MADAME BARRISTER (#1, 3-1) has been absent a long while but in dangerous hands while also well spotted for her return. Figures on or with pace throughout if off cleanly from the rail. -Mike Welsch
1:48 TAM 4th TRULY STELLAR (#3, 12-1) makes his first start since late January and seems to land in a favorable spot, as his best main track figures do fit with these; he was on the turf in his last two and three and four back he was in against much better, making those four off-the-board finishes easy to forgive. -Kenny Peck
2:50 TAM 6th CLASSY OF COURSE (#1, 4-1) makes the mandatory rise in class after beating claiming non-winners of two in her latest but she may be good enough in her current form, especially if she is able to shake loose and control the tempo from the start, as she did in that win last time; there’s little other speed in here, and that works to her advantage, as she should be able to back down the splits from the start. -Kenny Peck

3:04 GP 5th Looks like a field ripe for a new face to do some damage, taking shot with JEANIE’S ANGEL (#2, 6-1), one of only two older horses in the lineup. Has worked well enough recently to fit with this group of ordinary looking state bred maidens. -Mike Welsch
3:20 TAM 7th Expecting leading jockey Antonio Gallardo to sense the potential pace advantage that SONOMA STORM (#5, 5-1) could have here and put this filly in the game from the start; she usually comes from off the pace but given the expected race flow she may be quick enough to get clear in the opening stages. -Kenny Peck

6:16 GP 11th Lots of options as always seems to be the case in the nightcap around here. AGUAS COLORADAS (#8, 8-1) one of those options coming off near miss vs. a bit higher price company at Tampa. Won maiden at first asking over this course in August. -Mike Welsch
