DRF's Horse Racing Playbook for Sunday, April 3, 2022

Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook – something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day’s action.
12:46 TAM 2nd THUNDER BUGGY (#3, 4-1) goes third off the layoff, draws fine, lures Camacho, and should find the front end. This filly is bred to like two turns on the turf. This barn shows a flat bet profit on the green. -Scott Ehlers | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
1:09 LRL 2nd DAT DARES GOLD (#2, 9-2) tracked the slow pace while three wide, made a four-wide bid turning for home and got up for the place behind a runaway winner. Deserves mulligans for prior two starts (caught up in hot pace duel on Feb. 26; wet track on New Year's Day). Might get a bit more pace to run at this afternoon. -Dan Illman | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
1:16 TAM 3rd TELECAST (#7, 6-1) tried the tapeta in his debut and ran evenly before tiring some late. There is nothing wrong with that debut. He was claimed from that race something we don't see all that often in maiden claimers. After a medium layoff, this gelding showed up here and did little but was stuck between foes. Now he drops a notch in class and adds distance with the latter the key. -Scott Ehlers | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
1:46 TAM 4th KENAI COOL (#6, 4-1) often settles for less at least on the win in but ends up in a barn that is 24% off the claim. The 1 and 5 provide the pace so a good trip is more likely than not. Morales returns and this horse ran well with this jockey up only 2, 3, and 4 back. There are no world beaters in this race you know. -Scott Ehlers | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
2:31 GP 4th Here's Team Walsh right back with another major player in SOCIAL ENGAGEMENT (#3, 5-1), whose dominance of a $12.5k claiming route on the synth was even greater than it might appear on paper as she and T-Gaff controlled everything from the very first steps; doesn't seem to meet world-beaters in what amounts to a class raise of some note. -Marty McGee | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
3:02 OP 3rd FULLY AWARE (#7, 9-2) has reason to move forward in her second start off the layoff. -Mary Rampellini | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
3:46 TAM 8th AZURA (#5, 9-2) exits a key race where 2 of 6 returned to win with figs of 74 and 64. What if this filly is a new dirt horse? She has speed and in a race without a ton of pace. We think this filly can stalk if needed. -Scott Ehlers | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
3:54 AQU 6th MR BREADWINNER (#5, 5-1) made a belated debut over a sloppy track in February, where he chased wide and then got bounced around between horses in the stretch while tiring; bred to handle the stretch out and can do better with that experience behind him. -Mike Beer | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
4:19 LRL 8th DEJOHN (#2, 3-1) is a DRF Best Bet (Dan Illman). | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
6:10 OP 9th ALLO ENRY (#2, 7-2) is appealing for his consistent nature and competitive Beyer Figures. He also gets the continued services of Santana. -Mary Rampellini | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
7:08 SA 7th Last-out maiden winner WITCH MOON (#4, 7-2) gets the nod in this N2L starter turf route based on her improving pattern, speed figures appropriate for this level, and her finishing kick (:23.22 final quarter last out). Each recent start has been better than the start before, there seems to be enough pace to flatter her rally. -Brad Free | Get PPs for this race | Bet this race with DRF Bets
